Mrs. Fickell, why you acting so fickle, putting your husband in such a pickle when he obviously wants to come down to baton rouge and receive a big tickle.

Fickell is probably my number one choice.

But it's imperative that Woodward installs a massive buyout clause in the contract if he were to ever leave for Ohio State.

the sad thing is that saps on this board won't realize this is trolling largely because they don't know what the word celestial means

He is so deeply entrenched in Ohio - went to Ohio State, coached at Akron, Ohio State, and now Cincinnati. Football wise, it's undoubtedly a top-5 state, but what are his connections (recruiting wise) with high school coaches in Louisiana and the southeast?

What were Saban’s connections with high school coaches in Louisiana and the southeast when he was hired here???

What were Urban Meyers connections with high school coaches in Florida and the Southeast when he was hired away from Utah to Florida???

If you can coach, you can coach anywhere!!

2 CUSA Championships in 3 years

How many had Saban, Miles, or O won?

Who do you think we will interview who has won anything more significant that an CUSA championship as a head coach?

I would prefer someone other than Kiffin but let's not pretend he is a bad coach.

He played for the Saints. So he has lived in Louisiana.

He was an Undrafted FA for the Saints and tore his ACL in camp. Spent the year on IR and released. The chances that he spent more than a few months in Louisiana are slim to none.

Not a good strategy to lure somebody away from a good position. We would be trying to get him—he has more leverage. My question about Fickell is his personality. He seems kinda boring. I may be wrong about that, but you have to have charisma to woo kids and their families to recruit at the level you need to to compete in today’s SECW.

Fickell should be at the top of the list.

Just think....... If we had landed Marcus Freeman, we would have a nice solution to our problem. Fickell could have reunited with Freeman, and we would be Set for a while. However, I do believe Woodward will Nail this upcoming hire.

Just my .02 , but I’m a firm believer in 2nd chances. If Hugh Freeze has reestablished his credibility to the people that matter, I hope he gets Strong Consideration for the job! I would prefer him over Kiffin. I also believe if Woodward is considering hiring Kiffin, then he should consider Freeze. Kiffin has a lot of Skeletons in his closet as well ! Plus, Kiffin’s transgressions happened a Multiple stops!

. *****Josh Pate was dead on last night in his take on the Coach O situation. He says “LSU doesn’t have a Saturday problem. They have a Wednesday problem!” Another poster put the info out on another topic on this board for reference.

Fickell’s son is a freshman on the team.

Cincinnati will be joining the Big 12 the same time Oklahoma and Texas leave.

He played at Ohio State. His family is rooted there.

He’s not coming to LSU, and it’s not because he’ll turn LSU down, either.

ETA: to expand on this. Fickell isn’t the type of guy who is chomping at the bit to climb the ladder to the top.

Every thing you said there is pretty factual...... intensely loyal guy

Who has already said the 3.4M more than fills his needs. has stated

that he would like to build something special at Cincinnati and that

family concerns come first.

Hey, I'd love to have him..... who wouldn't like a state champion 3

time hs heavyweight champ (163-0) who pinned everyone or a

50 game starter at nose tackle who played his final game with a

broken bone in a bowl game. Guy is one tough cookie.

He is a very good recruiter... brought in good talent for Jim Tressell and Meyer.
