So O is better than Jimbo? lets hear it

Let's let Jimbo get a few years to install his system and recruit at FSU before judging him against a veteran like Coach Eaux. It's just not fair to compare JF's 2-5 record against Coach Eaux's 6-2 record.

JF's QB is hurt and LSU has had no injuries at all this year and their 3 deep is all veterans.

Jimbo needs more time to get established.

Who is trying to make this thread about history? The OP talking about the FSU team quitting on Jimbo is THIS YEAR. Not the past.
OP literally said:

LSU may have dodged a bullet, Fisher may be a one hit wonder.

Fisher is no one hit wonder. He's won championships as a OC and HC. He's won more than most. You can't really say O is better when you are as proven as fisher. But O had impressed me for sure overall. Minus some head scratching losses. But 1st year HC's having growing pains. Just look at most first year records. It's the way he's regrouped rallied and won crucial games. He's pushed all the right buttons since troy. Still gotta finish but he has a chance to win 9-10 And a good Bowl gam. Which would really create some excitement recruiting. Heck O already has created it with the bounce back in just 3 Sec wins. He doesn't seem over his head at all
Now. He called out ST's and that seems to hav been a perfect move. The way he coached in game during the 2nd half of AU and Canada / Aranda making the adjustments was impressive. They flat outcoached Gus and staff. 2 tough road wins even if down teams.

This has to be the worst attempt at sarcasm I've seen in a while.

No one... I mean no one... has justified FSU's crash this year... I even specifically stated it's beyond losing Francois and Jimbo (correct name) has to right that ship.

But O hasn't proven jack to running a successful program. Jimbo has. I give O full credit for the current turnaround, but the sample is too small to start shitting on Jimbo and sucking off O. Jimbo is 3 years younger than O with 100x the success.

For which Alleva tried to fire Miles for twice and succeeded once.

How the frick is 9 wins acceptable when the whole HIRE CEO premise was based on tweaks not a rebuild? And I'm not a Miles homer, but you don't fire Miles for only winning 8-10 games to hire someone you hope can win 8-10 games.

So a first year head coach with brand new OC, WR and RB coaches loses two games they shouldn't early in the season despite having played over 30 freshmen with 8 starting is HORRIBLE and no excuses can be made.

it’s bad.
it was bad when it happened, and looking back on it, it is still bad.

quote:

But a FSU coach who has not had time to install his system or recruit a full cycle of players goes 2-5 and loses to teams he shouldn't have with one freshman having to play, is par for the course and should be ignored.

nope. also a bad season. never said otherwise.

but when one coach has a trophy case stocked with hardware and the other one has his case stocked with “hope and pray”, i find it comical that people defend the “hope and pray” guy rather than the one who has actually accomplished something.

Jimbo is having a horrible season.
but his past successes say that he’s not a horrible coach and will more than likely right this ship again.

O had a terrible first month. And nothing in his past that shows he can build a program into a championship team. Yeah we hope he can do it. But until he actually does it, all he has is hope.

I got nothing against O.
I don’t think he was the right hire, but i’m still pulling for the guy and hope he can bring us a title.

Trying to elevate O to Jimbo status based on one bad season by Jimbo is comical.

You have to excuse Tiger Ree. He mysteriously disappeared in September after the State and Troy games and is just now getting caught up on what has transpired.

multiple conference titles and a natty as an OC multiple conference titles and a natty as a HC how does that equal only one hit?

He had one lucky season bc of Jamies Winston.

I'm just going to say this:

O is going bowling.

Jimbo is not.

Les' worst record was 8-4.

Jimbo is atmost a poor man's Les Miles.

We dodged a huge bullet.

so it all just luck?

in other words if O had better luck he could have recruited, developed, and coached a QB into a national title winner.

but his luck suck, so all his QBs have been below average.
got it.

I never wanted Jimbo. The money LSU would have to pay Les, plus pay Jimbo, was too much for the same coach.

And we can be honest, O and Les wouldn't have their teams with the caliber of recruits like FSU completely tank a season.

His team has clearly quit and they have thrown this season away. No excuses. He’s still proven enough I wish he was here.

It is what it is though. Geaux Tigers!!

I see a lot of excuses being made in this thread for Fisher and the same people making these excuses would be calling for his head if he were losing like that over here.

this, sir, is a fact. many LSU fans hate their head coach; always have, always will. they always point out the success the coach "de jur" is having even if that guy has only had one great year in his whole career. the internet and message boards like this only magnify the fans discontent while they read other like minded people's vitriolic comments.

I don't think you have any idea how idiotic you sound. He's 80-22 as a head coach and has won 10 games in six of his first seven seasons with one national championship.

Bowden was 7-6 in 2006, '07 and '09. In other words, three of his last four seasons.
