I understand what people are saying, but that is VERY misleading. Before 2018 LSU didn't throw the ball that much. Brennan is averaging 41 passes per game. If you average 7.3 ypa on 41 passes you get 300 yards.
Even with Mett as a senior and Landry and Beckham, we only averaged around 25 passes per game (with Jennings stats added in). What if Mett just averaged 30 at his 10.4 ypa?

Well, that's part of the larger point here. This is the new LSU offense. Even in Orgeron’s first 2 years, we were conservative vs lesser teams like Vandy. Now, we are throwing the ball all over the place and being more aggressive.

Who were the five? All Mett? J Lee? Etling? Generally curious.

Since 2010:
Mettenberger: 3 (UGA, State, Furman all in 2013)
Etling: 2 (A&M in 2016 and 2017)
Harris: 1 (Ole Miss 2015)
Burrow: 15 (Rice and UCF in 2018 and every team except Florida and GA Southern last year)
Brennan: 2 (Vandy and State this year)

The numbers are even more impressive when you factor in the drops.
I think Myles is capable of even more. When he's comfortable in the pocket and in rhythm, he can torch defenses. The key is protection.

Week 1 he seemed very uncomfortable in the pocket. Still a little antsy against Vandy but I could definitely see a little improvement. He will get more comfortable as the season goes on.
Week one he had giant ants in his pants
Little Improvement week 2? How about a WHOLE BUNCH of improvement
He will get more comfortable as the weeks go by but he will get a bit antsy from solid defensive teams, however he showed that he can learn from mistakes and whoever coached him to step up in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield did a superb job. Most importantly, MB showed that he can be coached and improved

It’s a testament to the scheme that we have this kind of production from 2 different quarterbacks.
Brennan was a bit shakey vs ms st but I still think Brennan did well enough to win that game .
He actually looked like a typical new qb to me. Fans just got used to Burrow’s command but forget that he had a year that wasn’t so great to get settled.
Consider the following -
Brennan is now tops in several categories over the first 2 games amongst LSU first year starters:
1st - Yards (682)
1st - Completions (50)
1st - TD Passes (7)
3rd - Attempts (83) - Leaders: Davey 94, Booty 87
Brennan should continue to improve. I see upside here. The scheme gives him plenty to work with

If that was the point, I'd have no problem with them reciting it. I've listened to a lot of radio people and seen tweets and articles about it since they first brought it up, and everybody is blowing it way out of proportion as a Brennan stat instead of a LSU offensive scheme, stat.
I feel like I need to say this because I bet people can't understand what I'm saying, but I'm not down talking Brennan, just saying the stat is stupid in comparison for previous 2018 LSU QBs if you're using it to prop Brennan up.
