I thought he was joking.
But where he did screw up was just before kickoff where he commented how their female sideline reporter ran across the field like she was running the mile Michigan.
To those of you who don't know, they used to have a one-mile naked run on campus. It was during winter so everyone ran it as fast as they could.
His coanchor immediately said, "uh, let's not go there"

Danielson can come off as a little smug sometimes, but he can break down the X's and O's in game better than anyone.
As far as the comment, I thought it sounded pretty clear that he was joking that Les was a lot more qualified to make the decision than he was...

I love how he can tell you why a play failed or succeeded before seeing the replay. It's like he actually PAYS attention to what's going on on the field.

I don't remember that, but the fact that he spent the entire game trying to guess what was about to happen, and then either patting himself on that back when right or playing it off when wrong got annoying very quickly.

That is very much not what he said. This is what he SHOULD have said.
While he may have been trying to come across as sarcastic, he said that he makes the same amount as Les in a serious tone. I don't think he meant for it to come off as arrogant but he should have used a different tone and choice of words. It was very awkward.

I was enraged when he said it. I've already written my open letter and plan to mail it today. CBS should fire him for using humor.
