Has anyone noticed LF false starts on the play of his downfield catch?

He did, didn't he. Probably was ecstatic to get the wheel route called. That play took forever to develop and was one of the few where the OL executed well on passing downs.

When we ran up to the line immediately after the play I thought a toss-dive was assured, but instead we run a little bubble/rub screen (for lack of a better term) to the slot receiver and let him use his athleticism in space to get into the end zone. I thought we were going to put Wisky away for good after that. I was wrong.

not a single look to 2nd WR. Every throw was his first look

The throw where he escaped pressure and found Dural wasn't his first look. The dumpoff to Fournette wasn't his first look. The throw to Desean Smith on the post route wasn't his first look. You've got to realize that our coaches design 80% of our passing offense to go one way. There is no second option. Our coach is a retard.

My question is, why have one of our two WR so close to the line. It would seem to just bring another defender near the box that LF7 has to deal with on running plays.

We do some weird shite.

Seriously though, watching that video shows that Harris was about as good as you can expect in 3rd and 8+ (those are rarely converted at any level), and on early passing downs he was fine when given time and/or options.

This is a perfect example - throwing out of a run look and one of the few times the TE ran a route as well as the 2 WRs.

I think the back shoulder throw that Dupre tried to go up for pisses me off the most. There was no reason to try to do that. It was a great ball from Harris. Dupre should've ran under it rather than trying to pirouette in midair like a fricking ballerina. His drop over the middle might be just as bad. Boy still hasn't learned to bring the ball to his chest.

Harris looked good enough to get the job done, if he had a decent line to protect him.

We absolutely need to run more 3 wide/ 1 back sets and with 7 yard routes...15 to 18 yard routes just to move the chains are ridiculous

Im glad that some people are actually looking at the fact that Dupre dropped 5 first down passes. Yeah they may not have been between the numbers but when you have a wide out thats 6-4 you have to rely on him to catch the ball at its high point and come down with it. This completely changes the game. Thanks for the video.

Dupre couldn't catch anything

My only concern with Harris is that it appears when he has to throw the ball hard, it flies on him or goes high. His most effective passes look to be floaters where the WR's can adjust and run to them.

He honestly didn't look as bad watching that again besides letting a few sail and the bad pick at the end

Meh, if the tackle is made, it's a two yard gain. It is a low percentage play in my book. I say nix the fullback and a TE. I would like to see a two back set with Guice and go with some misdirection. We are just waaaay too predictable imo. Hell, watch us run power I all year and win the title.

Like said before we should throw 7-8 yard passes with the occasional deep shot. A) the oline sucks so it won't take aslong to develop, and B) because the oline sucks and won't take much time to develop...

You saying if people watched the game they would realize we were in the gun a lot? Because that's just not true

No this stupid narrative that because Harris played in a spread offense, not under center, that he us failing because he's always under center.

First, they don't only run I formation.

Second, Harris still looked bad in shotgun. His best throws came from him under center.

Reading thus site, you'd think it was the opposite.

Hence why I said, watch the games.

The INT and overall offensive ineptitude mired the entire game, but Harris was good enough to win. I think it almost goes without saying that he had zero help in the passing game. Throws in the chest were caught and that was about it.

Don't get me wrong, he made some bad throws too, but 3-4 bad throws in 21 attempts is acceptable.

Sure, but you have to like your chances with a WR in space in a game like that. The threat of a pass play helps, even if it is a simple dump off for 2-3 yards on a drag route.

Me too, but let's be real.

Everyone is bashing the "If" but damnit if Dupre could have held on to just a few more of those then this is a different ballgame.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he had 4 drops one of which was intercepted. The may not be the easiest catches but if he is a first round talent he needs to catch those passes.

That was actually more promising than I recall. Take out the first 3 throws where he was Amped up and he actually made some decent progressions and reads. The offensive line and Dupres countless drops really put us behind the 8 ball.

Still need to continue to incorporate the shotgun a majority of the time though.

Where was the bad O-line play people keep talking about? Seemed to me he had plenty of time with a nice pocket to throw out of. If they're referring to the run blocking, they were out numbered on account of the inept passing game. SOS

01: Wisconsin rushes 5, one of the 5 slips. LSU has 8 men blocking.

02 Wisconsin rushes 4, LSU has 8 men blocking.

03 Wisconsin rushes 4, LSU has 7 men blocking. Harris pressured.

04 Wisconsin rushes 5, LSU has 7 men blocking.. LF7 PA and runs a ~2 yard route.

05 Wisconsin rushes 4, LSU has 5 men blocking. Harris sacked.

06 Wisconsin rushes 5, LSU has 7 blocking... 3 yard pass (tackle broken)

07 Wisconsin rushes 5, LSU has 7 blocking

08 Wisconsin rushes 5, LSU has 8 blocking

... Yeah...
