I'm not sure which board you've been reading, but this board was constantly filled with the usual suspects reciting the same stuff over and over again.
"Miles left the program devoid of talent and Orgeron did the best as could be expected with what he was left with. He did better than Saban."
It was nauseating.

Some of these people either have extremely short memories or the attention span of a hamster.

I must’ve read whole threads or seen thread titles with that line of thinking and tuned them out or have forgotten them. I don’t understand those fans who “applaud” anything less than 10 wins. If we were that low on standard then why did we fire Miles!?
I do not think anyone should consider O a success because he wins 8 games. We should be able to win 9 strictly on talent. I’m an LSU fan and I want what’s best for this program, and I do not think Ed Orgeron is it. Simple as that.

That's a very sensible view and I think any LSU fan would have trouble arguing that point. Well said.

Hopefully, they have become a little more sensible...or we will have yet another coach who is no longer coaching but still drawing millions every year due to his contract.

Thanks.
I grew up watching LSU Football in the 90s. I was young then, but I remember the Curly Hallman and Jerry DiNardo days. I don’t want to go back to that.
O feels like the “figuring shite out while we look for the next guy” hire. But the problem is our dumbass AD isn’t looking for the next guy. He is actively pleased with who he has. O isn’t the kind of guy you replace one of the most successful coaches your program has ever had with.
I’d love and hate to be in O’s position. Yeah I have my dream job, but I’m following in the footsteps of the Modern Day Cholly Mac.

I will support my team as I always have done. But it is gonna take a lot of wins to erase that dumarse decision to kick a FG in Orlando instead of trying for that last 6 Inches. That decision was really baaaaad.

I was born in '75 and sat through all of that bullshite too. I don't think some fans understand how quickly LSU can slip back into those days. Just ask Tennesee, Florida, Texas and even Bama had losing seasons for a while. It doesn't take much.

changing the message cause you guys are misunderstanding me. Of course I support coach O, He's my coach, but last year he was applauded for what would have been considered a losing season for Les Miles.
Get outta here with your objectivity and logical reference point. People don’t like it when you point out double standards around here;)

Maybe soft. I would say more stagnant and uninterested if anything. Go back and listen to UF in 97, UT in 01, UGA in 03, Auburn 03. Hell, even the early Miles days.
Slowly but surely Les Miles sucked enjoyment from the game. We have not been fun to watch for years now. Some say LSU fans are unrealistic, and many times that is the case.
For me personally, I’m not expecting national title, or playoff appearances every year. I just want to see our current defense with any kind of offense with a pulse. That’s all I want. Maybe that will light a fire under some asses and bring the wildness back into the program and fanbase.

Are you saying LSU fans are responsible for the Joe Alleva wilt and fatigue?

Hell no we ain't soft. We're simply HOPING for the best. My heart is set on 11 & 1 or 10 & 2. I will continue to root hard for it until a grim reality would rear its head. IF that happens, I'll start calling for his head at that time.

Nobody is “happy with 8-4”! But my entire time attending LSU was the effing Hallman era. Don’t come in here with your I am suffering with 8-4 bullshi!!

Speak for yourself Bob. Sure there were times where Miles and some of the things he did were maddening, but I for one enjoyed winning at a 77% rate over his 11 plus years as the head coach.
You want to see something not fun to watch, buckle up for the next few years of the eddy o show. I hope I'm wrong about it, but o doesn't instill any confidence in me, from what he's shown so far as the head coach.

This is the best post of the night. That FG was the worst ever. Got an NFL RB on your team and you kick.

I am speaking for myself. I’m just glad we got rid of Miles before he totally ran the program into the dirt.
