I still can't see LSU dropping more than 7 games.

I just felt confident enough in the addition of Burrow to expect at least 8 wins.. don't we lead the NCAA in consecutive 8 win seasons?

Had we not gotten Burrow, I would very much be concerned with the schedule and QB position.. and honestly could see how some may think around 6-6.

We still have a long ways to go though.

I was confused all year on how every "expert" can just forget how loaded our defense is. If you have a defense like ours, that said team will be pretty damn good. End of story.

Our own fans apparently forgot too

Spoke to my buddy a few days before the game. He asked me if I thought we would win and I told him I did. In fact I even said it could get a little lopsided. He then told me he just bet Miami to beat us and also took the under on Lsu winning 6.5 games this season. I was like WTF? Lol

It’s ok, he admitted, off the record, that he was colluding with Marcus Spears

The fact that we lost ALL of our production on offense and Miami returned so much is the reason why these "experts" had us losing that game. They simply skim the paperwork and make the obvious decision.

Anyone can skim the paperwork like that and come to the same conclusion. My problem with them is that they want to be called experts but don't really put in the work to be experts.

I'm not sure why y'all expected Herbstreit to pile on the praise coming into this season. By all accounts (many, many people shared this view here) LSU was in a tailspin. There wasn't much actual evidence that O was moving us in the right direction. He's a liked guy in the profession, but as a HC he's just not that respected. That's the truth.

Herb is one of the few at his level who will course correct and admit he was got something wrong. He did that after the game and today. I'll give him credit for that.

I don’t get the hate for Herbie. I think he is by far the best in his profession. He proves it by admitting he is wrong. Hell we have ex players that say worse things than Herbie.

I just think Vegas wanted a big pay day. They had most SEC fans and Miami fans really believing the "talk".

Most LSU fans, that have paid attention, without bias against certain people on this staff knew what was coming. Burrow has all the intangibles a QB needs to be successful, so I was pretty confident that he perform well under pressure.

Rosier on the other hand has a history of inaccuracy and is limited when facing a top defense. Aranda had this kid pegged from day one and every defender playing for LSU who watched film knew his weakness. Usually if a player hasn't changed his habits in the past, it will be 10 fold when playing a great defense.

Vegas just wanted a good pay day to start the season. Anyone that has any knowledge of college football knew what was coming or had a good idea anyway. This offense is going to light SE up next week. Over 300 passing and 300 rushing next week, book it.

Based on what? All of the amazing performances in his college career?

Herbstreit has gotten better as an analyst over the last few years and you’re right. Everyone had us losing that game and he is one of the first ones to come out and give credit where credit is due.

I have been saying this too. The narritive was set early and it was just repeated ad nauseum by all the fringe pundits who did not have the time or energy to research anything about this team.

I think they were surprised by us and Ole Miss as well.

I disagree. We have more quality depth on both sides of the ball than last season. That team beat Auburn and played Alabama even. If Etling had completed a few key passes to wide open receivers we could have beaten Bama. The team that lost to Ms. St. and Troy was not the same team that defeated Auburn. In addition we have better receivers. We also corrected the kicking problems of last season.
Anyone who is payed to make predictions should have known those facts. Anyone that calls themselves a Tiger fan and gives their opinion should also have known.

How much research do you want them to do?

If I am an outside person and see 10 returning starters 5 Offense, 5 Defense on a team that lost 4 games the year before one in a blow out and one to a sunbelt team. A flukey win over Auburn where it appeared the coach forgot how to run the ball in the second half. And losing our best receiver, two best running backs, arguably our best lineman and the only QB on staff who has had any meaningful snaps in college. I certainly wouldn't conclude they were much higher than 25 if that high except that I an biased.

I think we just have to win with this schedule to change peoples opinions.
