It's frustrating you don't understand how the CFP process works

Actually I was hoping for something with palm trees, mountains, or somewhere I’ve never been to. Riding around the 610 Loop or Beltway 8 is not that fun.

I'm assuming 13 is your age. You clearly do not know how the SEC works. You keep addressing Florida State....which means nothing towards the SEC.
Alabama was the #1 seed because they had a difficult schedule...and the only SEC game they lost was against OU, in a game they dominated stats 2-1, but had multiple turnovers that led to a 2 pt loss. So yes, they were the 1 seed, and finished 10-2.
Do I think they are championship material? No. Only one team, IMO, is championship material from the SEC. Georgia. You were bragging about A&M. Guess what, they didn't play a team in the SEC that finished in the top 6. The toughest team they played was #7 seed Texas, and they got the brakes beat off of them. Their qb can't pass...he can run, but when Texas shut that down, it was lights out. Guess, what, OM had an even worse schedule. They have 5 sec wins against teams that combined 6-34 in conference. Yes, you read that right. Oh, and the 6th win, was against 3-5 LSU. OM is a fraud. They will beat Tulane again, but Georgia will wax them. OU? They have as bad an offense as LSU. Alabama has zero run game, so they are one dimensional. So, GA, IMO, is the only chance we have of winning it all.

Alabama has not been ranked higher. If so the rankings make no sense

I undwrstand exactly how the process works, and from experience, the criteria they go by. And understanding that, it’s simple to grasp how and why Alabama made the field.
That has nothing to do with your opinion, and my disagreement with that opinion, that Alabama was the best team in the SEC this season with the exception of Georgia.

I disagree with the sentiment that a team shouldn't be penalized for losing the SEC championship game - especially if they are not even competitive In the game. If Alabama would have won the game, they sure would have been using that win as rationale for being in the playoffs.
so it's win = playoff bid and lose = playoff bid with the current logic
Now replace Alabama with LSU in the SECCG and get tell me you'd be fine with LSU being dropped from the playoffs because they lost. The system needs changing, for sure, but penalizing an already qualified team for losing a Championship game is not going to happen.

BYU says hi
BYU was in the Top 12 but with two Group of 5 schools qualifying, they got knocked out, not because they lost, but because they weren't ranked high enough before their Championship game. If the ACC had a reasonable tie-breaker either ND or BYU get in and JMU is out.
