Anyone still playing the “muh no talent” excuse has no credibility so we can eliminate those posts right off the bat. House has been very good but I agree with you, until he dominates 3 straight top 4 opponents, holds multiple NFL starters and star QBs down or has a season where he gives up 15ppg in the SEC he’s got an uphill climb to do what Aranda did here.

Well, we don’t have ‘3rd and House’ (so far) like we had ‘3rd and Aranda’ quite frequently as I recall.

“3rd and fill in the blank” has been used for every DC LSU has had for almost 15 years now including House earlier this season. It’s just a weak and baseless attempt to smear. The fact is that this great season House is being anointed “best ever” for is worse statistically than all but 1 of Aranda’s defenses at LSU. Not a knock against House, he’s done a great job but reality > narrative.

We didn’t win it all because of Aranda. Was he an important part, hell yes. But without that offense, we don’t sniff the playoffs.

In fact, Joey B owes Dave Aranda a lot of money. If the defense was so great, we would never had 3rd & 17 & a lot of other touchdowns, because the 1st team guys would have been sitting on the bench with 30+ point leads in the 4th quarter.

Also, Aranda had NFL dudes all over that defense. House has maybe 5.

House only because he’s had way less talent to work with. The 2019 team was loaded and while, the greatest season of all time, I’d argue that the defense under performed in several games giving the talent they had.

A- yes we did win for 3 straight years because his D kept this program afloat.

B- if you’re saying that D had NFL guys all over the place it mean you’re including players like Frank Herron, Jacoby Stephens, Jacob Phillips, Ty Shelvin, Micheal Divinity. If those are NFL guys then this D has 9-10 NFL guys too.

That would be real tough to do in this era of college football.

House is doing a great job but I think Perkins is a lot more than Icing on the cake.

He’s at least a layer.

In fairness, their bosses aren't equal.

Neither was/is their talent. Devin White, Chaisson, Greedy, Delpit, Queen, Phillips, Fulton, Lawrence. Aranda was playing with a stacked deck. We have talent on our team, but not like those guys.

I think that was 2016, I know it’s even more open now but still was pretty open then. Teams are still doing it, teams like UGA and Michigan do it now off the top of my head.

In 2016 Aranda inherited personnel that didn’t fit his scheme and allowed the fewest touchdowns in the country. Absolutely elite squad in year 1.

Has Aranda become the most underrated coach in program history at this point? Put some respect on his name. He kept us afloat through some terrible offensive years and head coach situations.

He never had a pair of pass rushers like Ojulari and Perkins. Most seasons he didn’t have anyone at either of those players level.

Put some respect on Aranda’s name. Did you all forget what he did to our Lb core in his stint here?

It was DJ Welter and Karnell Hatcher bad before him.

Dude had defenses ranked in the top 10 across the board for like 3 years
