Don't need air raid just need to do more of and continue building on the types of things we did against S Carolina and in the second halve of the W. Kentucky game

19 passing

26 rushing

42% passing is just under 50%...

They were four or five other drop backs that we're going to be passed that you're not counting. The sacks would be passes. So yeah, that's pretty balanced.

Sorry to break up the circle jerk of incessant negativity and program trashing by supposed fans of a top 10 7-1 team

Factually correct.... but a perpetuation of mediocrity relative to other elite programs. Or maybe we're just not elite anymore.... Does anyone aspire to be Champions of college football again? Anybody?? 10-Win Settlers??

What percentage did they pass before they were up by 14 points? What is their percentage of pass on the season? Do you think that might keep LSU "guessing" a little bit?

And we did run pass plays on almost 50 percent

Should have been 75+ percent given that match up

I did this on another thread.

19 passes, 26 Rushes. Two of those rushes were sacks so now 21 passes, 24 rushers. Also, two pass interference calls
23 passes, 24 rushes Some runs by Harris were scrambles on pass plays but there may have also been a few penalties on run plays that would add to the run attempts.

So plays run 47. Passes 23

23/47 = 48.9 %

Its just when they run they show you we are running and we are running it right here. There is no effort to looked balanced before the snap or to show pass and then run.

There were 2 sacks so that 21 / 24 so it was really 47% pass called.

That's fair - we should ditch the fullback altogether (or at the very least the I) - 2 WR on every formation (up to 4, obviously) - use motion, TE, H-backs (convert the FBs - how many times does the fullback carry?) to bring one more body to the point of attack - and motion on most pass plays will hide this tell, too.

Then - at the very least, they can't gamble on a run versus the I. Draws will work better - misdirection will work better (go 3 or 4 times with the motion, then go against it and that catches them napping) - passing plays will have at least 3 options if you have 1 receiving TE - and up to 5 - if you chip the TEs and have the RB run a hot route.

It takes a lot of reps to execute such an offense, but with the talent we're able to recruit it can and should work with the professional OC we have on staff.

kinda hard to do this when they are already in the backfield when we snap

or since they're already getting back there, let them back there and run screens....

And Miles and Cameron MUST know this - yet they failed to plan for it. If anything, this is my biggest knock.

To not do SOMETHING. I have no problems trying to run the ball - it is what we do - more than that, it is who we are. But, you run to set up the pass and pass to set up the run. Hit them with a few screens, then they stop straining to get into the backfield. Then you set them up to hesitate - THEN run it at them. Yes their linebackers can still make plays, but first item up is to negate the DL rush. Worry about the linebackers later - at least you're at the LOS going forward and just need to get a block or break a tackle.

The way it was on Saturday, LF7 had no chance to even get going.
