That was an embarrassing home loss. BK and staff shite the bed as they have many times in his 3 years (see USC, A&M, etc).

The 2 teams I DID NOT bet for or against this year are Alabama and Ohio State. You just don't know which team shows up.

LSU may be physically and mentally weak in the trenches.

We lost our only legit DT for the year. Even when we had him, we had no experienced depth behind him.
As a result, the lb’s had to “run blitz” way more than desired.
If they missed, it was a TD or huge play.
If the QB kept it, the defense was fricked.
Against most running QB’s that is what happened.
Alabama has a helluva athlete at QB.
Such is life.
It is why LSU loaded up on DT’s after the season ended.
A legit run stopper that eats up blocks is immeasurably valuable.
That’s why we picked up the DT from Texas.
As a result, the lb’s had to “run blitz” way more than desired.

1) Our LBers and Safeties have no idea how to defend a running QB.
2) our DL lost contain multiple times in that game.
It was basically a replay of the A&M game and had very little to do with Milroe being so good as LSUs defense simply playing stupid.
On offense, they were clearly still flustered from the second half of the A&M game and you have an atrocious OC calling the plays in Sloan. If he stays as OC none of this portal pull will mean anything and LSU will be an at least 3 loss team again.

LSU has a severe mental block against Bama. Since 1/9/12, it literally takes a generational Heisman QB to beat them, and even then those QBs go 1-1 against them.
Bama owns LSU.
ETA: Bama has great talent and has beat most teams the last 12 years, but LSU would be well served to stop building that game up so much. Get rid of the bye before it and make it just another week. The two week time period and the incessant hype turns LSU into mush unless there’s a top 2 draft pick at QB to bail them out. Try something different because the performances against them are pathetic as hell.
