It’s literally their AD’s fault. It’s such BS
It’s not. The issue I see is that there seems to be a need to assign blame. The reality is that if a coach wants to look around, they must do it during the season. Your current team’s season, and the potential success they may have needs to be part of that decision.
This idea that Lane had some sort of right to coach the playoffs is straight up stupid. He is the LSU coach, and his focus should and is building a winning program - this is more than a full time job. Is him being on the sidelines for OM truly in their best interest? Shouldn’t they get it decide?
In this particular case, OM is a long time rival and annual opponent which complicates things. Do the OM fans want him there? Should they get the opportunity to see if they have the pieces to keep going without Lane? On the other hand, what if they won a championship with Kiffin as coach? LSU fans would require therapy if they are unable to get that far if OM did it with LSU’s coach on the payroll.
The media is stirring up shite and will abandon this storyline as soon as a more compelling one comes along. Lane can say he wanted to coach OM all he wants, but he now works for LSU, I’m not sure there is anything left to say unless you are getting paid to make shite up about it.

At least he listened. Not many will do that when it comes to sports, politics, and religion.

That was, until I told him that Kiffin wanted to coach the playoffs through, LSU was going to allow it, and Ole Miss told him to get fricked. When I told him that, he said “well I didn’t know that. That’s good context to have”
But even then he’s getting shite on, still:
“You can’t have your cake and eat it, too.”
“How narcissistic to think he can accept a job with a rival and be allowed to coach.”

Once you understand the media and “news” no longer reports but rather creates narratives for public persuasion then it all makes sense

What don't you people understand?
Lane bolted his playoff team deliberately.
It was a choice.
You break up with your girl before Prom. Do you really expect to still have the privilege of taking her to Prom?

Keith Carter let the best coach Ole Miss has ever had walk out the door to your main rival!
How does any respectable AD let that happen?
All the stuff about coaching the play offs is just deflection.
Then to hire Pete Golding as his permanent replacement?
Keith Carter needs to be fired for how he let this blow up in his face.

This is literally how the media works, they create an agenda to start turmoil, drama, and fear depending on whatever it is, war, politics, shortages, and anything else under the sun and simple minded and or clueless people to the situation take off and run with it..

Why is every national media member except Saban saying “Lane left his team! What a horrible human! The poor players!!”
All of the ones that are former coaches understand the move. The ones that are former players have trouble with choosing to leave the program.

I am glad he is not coaching. It would not benefit LSU in any way for him to be coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs.
