IMO he’s either a Friday night starte or he’s back to the pen

He’s too valuable to hold onto until a Sunday start and should be used to put our fires on Friday and/or Saturday. Give him a few more starts to figure it out or Jay will make a move

I guess we promised him a shot?

Doesn’t seem to have it

Indiana has not hit the ball out of the infield yet. 2 infield singles and an error is not a pitching problem

Holy cow! Some of y'all act like these kids are supposed to pitch perfect games every outing. I don't like the 2 walks but he just came back 3 up 3 down.

Won’t Schmidt get another start and then Johnson would have a better indication if he can make the rotation?

I'm just following along cheer's bpb, but it seems like 4 out of Evans' 5 innings have gone 1-2-3, no?

Sheerin isn't ramped up for that sort of workload yet. He hasn't thrown more than one inning per outing since coming back from injury

Jay's experimenting, the cream will rise to the top. The only starting pitcher I've been impressed with is Cooper.

Jay probably has the most impressive Johhny Wholestaff, but we are still waiting to see who will emerge as the Ace.

He hasn’t looked so hot either. I’m not at all worried. Season is brand spanking new. Lots of changes occur as we move forward. New guys in new roles and not everything works out as you originally plan. Had high hopes for both of them. They’ll be strong coming out of the pen. Next man up.

The pitching depth is insane. Idk why people here have such a problem with criticizing pitchers who have looked bad. Schmidt has looked bad since he got on campus

This post was made about AE over and over again first couple months of last year. Give the kid time to settle in. He’ll be fine.

They are going to give him a plenty of time to work into being the ace. He might get moved to sat or sun starter but i dont see him going back to the pen

I don’t think you can “work into being the ace” over the course of a season. You are either a Friday night or you aren’t.

Thankfully a deep bullpen behind him.

Because of this JJ can allow him a longer leash to develop into a starter.
