Not as upset as O will be. He knows LSU went after Herman before him. He has a BIG chip on his shoulder.

I respectfully disagree. This game will be a huge opportunity for us to make a statement to the nation. Recruiting implications as well. Not to mention the Orgeron/Herman subplot. A loss will greatly agitate those who already view Orgerons leash as being very short.

11-1 is only acceptable record. If O beats Bama, I'll accept Texas as the 1. But we should not lose to Texas.

LSU will smash Texas like Santa Anna ran through the Alamo.

I feel the same way. I think anything less than a spot in the playoff this year will be disappointing. I’d imagine 11-1 would be necessary to make it

We would decide that we are a basketball school early this year.

More upset than losing to A&M, that’s for sure.

Texas is the flagship school of Texas and it ain’t even close. Beating them would be huge.

I think this defense is being underrated. People see the loss of Greedy and White as our defense resetting and that's not the case. I think this defense will be better than last year

I’ve been comparing this to 2011 for while now.

We lost PP, Shep, and Nevis after 2010 and that ‘11 unit came out and dominated like we hadn’t seen since 2003.

With the return of Lawrence and Fehoko on the DL plus Chaisson and Fulton in the back 7 I really don’t see a weakness on this defense.

With the bulk of our main contributors being in their third year under Aranda I think this will be his best and most aggressive unit in Baton Rouge.

Add that to an offense that is being led by a confident and motivated leader in Burrow that now has the familiarity and respect of his teammates with new young weapons in the backfield and an OL that simply has to have improved I can’t see how this team shouldn’t win every game on this schedule aside from Alabama, and even that game shouldn’t be written off as an L, although it would certainly be a huge upset and an undeniably triumph by this staff.

The Oregon game in 2011 was used as a springboard that focused and motivated that team to dominate and this Texas game should do the same if the staff is up to it, and UT won’t be anywhere near as good as that Oregon team was.

It is a pivotal game for the future of this program, no question.

I’m confident Burrow and this defense are going to shine

Not mad at all because you are still alive I’d rather lose early to an out of conference team and still have the sec to go through. All your goals are still in front of you !

I see the Texas game like the Miami game last year... it's really big. Win it and we're in T town undefeated.

Why in TF do people start threads like this?

I’ve lived here most of my life and have to disagree. Texas fans, while snobby, are nowhere near the assholes that Aggie fans are. They are intolerable. Hell, they bragged a shitload after this past season win.

TAMU is in conference.
They want a rivalry with LSU more than anything.
Texas doesn’t give a shite about LSU.

Equal to the Wisky loss in 2016.

It will hurt a lot.

There are a lot of comparisons between the 2 teams. There's 3 glaring exceptions, IMHO. 1: 2019 has a much better QB. A guy that is better in the pocket than 2011 but can also run when needed. And with the way Miles didn't like his QB's running this is a major advantage to this team. 2: 2019 has a much better OC. I'm not high on SE and an OC, but he is far better than Greg Studrawa. Plus, add in passing game coordinator Joe Brady, and this team has a vast advantage over the 2011 team. 3: Orgeron is still trying to prove himself. He knows his teams must be ready to play every week. By 2011, IMO, Miles had got conservative since he'd already won a NC. He quit being the Mad Hatter. Guess he started wearing hats that were not made with Mercury. Point being Orgeron will be more intense and fired-up than Miles was in 2011.
