Ridley definitely has better vision and seems to hit the hole faster too. To me, Scott ran more like a fullback than tailback. Ridley is a better receiver as well. Nevertheless, Scott is better in short yardage positions. If he was about 15lbs lighter, he would be a better runner IMO.

I would take Ridley over Scott with this offensive line.

Same type of back. Both are very good, I would not want to make a guess who is the best. Both were top parts of the Lsu offense.

I liked Scott, but he had no first cut ability.

He hit the hole and then tried to run through the second line. The problem is if there was no hole or if it were small, he didn't gain very much.

Ridley has the best first cut since a skinny Justin Vincent in 2003. He can get into space quickly. He doesn't break as many tackles as Scott, but he isn't easy to take down.

I think a better question is how well does Ridley perform behind the 2008 Offensive Line and Quinn Johnson?

There is no argument that the 2008 Line and Johnson are heads and tails better than the current group.

Similar. But Ridley has a burst that Scott did not have.

Road is finally coming around. He scoffed at me when I said Ridley was the best back since Joe Addai at LSU.

Ridley runs the ball harder than Chuck....this O-Line is not all that.

This OL is one of the great surprises of the season. Last offseason, Stud was coaching for his job.

ridley hits the hole faster than scott who needed time to reach his speed. once he got going, though, get out of the way.

I disagree with that. Scott hit the hole very fast.

There just weren't any holes in 09.

I'm thrilled with Ridley.

It is a hypothetical.

I wouldn't classify Ridley as "bruising." He has some shake to him and cuts quickly. Scott was a straight North to South runner.

In fact, Hester and Scott are much more comparable than Ridley and Scott. Ridley closer to Joe Addai - not as fast as Addai but a quicker cut

Scott would not have done as well as Ridley simply because Ridley is a better RB. I have no idea how those who have posted that Scott is quicker and faster than Ridley could come to such a conclusion. Ridley is faster than Scott ever thought about being and has much better vision and cutting ability.
