Are you calling Russell a loser, then? If Colt is not a winner, then Russell cannot be called a winner. They have about the same winning percentage as starters.
SFP - You can respond to this part of the thread also, ok?

Russell won the SEC West and a BCS bowl game in his 2 years starting at LSU. Mccoy hasn't won anything in his 2 years starting at UT

and LSU plays in the SEC while UT plays in the Big12 (ans had a major talent advantage over every team not named OU)

So he won a 6-team half-of-a-conference championship and got rocked in the real conference championship game -and then gutted the 87th ranked ND pass defense, a ND team who was UNIVERSALLY considered non-BCS bowl worthy.
That is so sad of an argument. That is your criteria for being a winner?
No way, dude, would you be stating such things for any other QB. No way !
You are so dishonest in you analysis.

Colt was good enough for Jevan Sneed to know he'd never play a down of football at UT. Now he's in SEC and just beat Florida. Go figure.

We must admit that is due to Mack Brown politics, but nonethless a fact of the matter.

something mccoy has yet to do in a much weaker conference/division

he got hurt a whole lot worse than mccoy did in 2006

what is your definition of a winner? a guy who can't win his conference in a 2-year span when he leads the most talented team in that conference without any team close to #1 or #2?

Your talking about LSU in 2006 and 2007, correct?

colt had a year to redshirt and was mack's boy
snead knew he'd never be able to turn that emotional tide, so he transferred

the SEC has more than 2 super talented teams
and the SEC plays defense

Find me one SEC knowledgable person who did not feel LSU has the most talented team in the SEC in 2007 - just one. And that person or persons will be a lier or a partisan.
You are all about excuses, and have backed your way into calling Russell a non-winner.

we had the most talented team, and we won the SEC
UF in 2006 was really fricking talented. we prolly had a slight edge, but we also played @ UF
and we shite ourselves. and there were some momentum-changing calls that went against LSU

Al, I love how you rag on RPs performance in the SEC CG, but ignore the fact he was doing pretty well before suffering a huge gash on his throwing hand. I believe one of his fingers was pretty messed up that game early on.
That is what hurt our offense and the coaches decided to go conservative the rest of the way to avoid tragic mistakes.
McCoy is a solid QB, but had he come to LSU he wouldn't have had near the experience and training, nor the confidence he got while playing for UT in the Big 12.

I'm not getting into what he'd have done here, etc, but I think this is a little harsh. Would you say this about Beckwith? Addai? How about Adrian Peterson? Getting injured is not a function of toughness. I watch a lot of UT games and the guy is pretty tough. I saw him take a lot of brutal hits especially last year because he hangs in to the last second before throwing. Even the best of them get happy feet occasionally.

it's not him getting injured as much as him folding when he gets hit/minorly hurt
beckwith and addai play through injuries (Sometimes to the team's detriment), but they don't get scared
mccoy does

I don't think Colt ever committed to LSU. He committed to Texas on 5/15/04. LSU is not on his list on either Rivals or Scout.

There are also two articles mentioning Colt and LSU, published on Oct. 27 2004, but there is no evidence that he actually committed LSU, or that Perrilloux and he were to switch places. If I am mistaken, then please link me.
Even further, it seems that Colt and Ryan were committed to Texas at the same time, as Colt pledged to the Horns on 5/15/04, and Ryan pledged on 7/26/04. I am sure that no one will answer why people continue to believe that Colt was once a LSU commit.

he was coming to LSU before RP left Texas

I don't believe you. There simply isn't any evidence of that, and you repeating it sustains the illusion that Colt ever committed, or was in the process of committing to LSU. I don't think he was going to come, especially when he committed to Texas in May. I really doubt he had an offer from us. Please, direct me to evidence if I am mistaken.
If Colt was coming to LSU, then why did he never decommit from Texas? Ryan did not commit to LSU until signing day, although it looked like he was going to decommit for while, but how was Colt to know where Ryan was going? That means that Colt would have to have waited until Ryan signed. I don't think he did.
