No to Jimbo. That would be throwing good money after bad. One win against bama in a season which they will AT BEST finish second in the division is not enough.

LSU is a much, much better program than that. We’re the only school not named Bama with more than 2 natties this century, and we’re the only school whose last three coaches all have natties.

We need to start acting like it. Woodward needs to get the biggest fish he can and that is NOT Jimbo.

When there is chatter that USC of all places is waiting on LSU to make a hire, YOU DON’T HIRE JIMBO.

We wouldn’t have a national title if we hired fisher.

Obviously he would be better than O but I wouldn’t be overly thrilled.

Forget it. We can't afford Jimbo. Plus, he just bought a ranch near CS.

Jimbo will not coach at LSU, he had the chance and just used LSU to leverage FSU and A & M.

I would rather Jimbo over Franklin.

Right now I'd be happy with Elmer Fudd if he had the ability to hire the right coordinators.

Like a lot of posters here, he is not my first choice. Wouldn’t just love the hire, but willing to give him a chance to prove himself.

It would be a slam dunk smash hire! If you don’t think so just look what they did this past weekend. Jimbo can flat out coach and recruit and he loves Baton Rouge. College station probably has the most sterile game day tailgating experience in planet earth. It’s all country music, huge cowboy hats and howdy, zero culture, zero fun!

I’m not saying he definitely WOULD leave for LSU. But, he is about to compete in Texas ( for recruiting) with UT and OU being SEC teams. LSU has no such competition for LA players. Yes, I know Bama et al recruit LA. But, it really is an advantage here that will not exist there.

It is something he will consider if offered.

Better than when we hired coach O!

He has taken a unranked/unmanned team and beaten a program that hadn’t loss a game in almost 2 yrs

Like we were in for many lean years. Don’t forget A&M has two losses this year. Jimbo is 4 years into the 10 year 75 mil contract, all guaranteed. He definitely has not proven his creds in the SEC.

To be fair - his QB1 got injured and Calzada was not ready. He sure got him ready for Bama, however.

I’m not a huge Jimbo guy. But, he is a good coach.

Id be good with it. Its actually one of the safest hires. Knows LSU. Knows how to recruit. Proven Winner. My biggest worries would be his offense and overpaying him.

Agree. No candidate is perfect but he's one of the few active coaches with a natty.

If we hired Jimbo I would be extremely pissed. Not only is he a gigantic a-hole, but he is also way overrated.

In my opinion, this hire needs to be more forward thinking than status quo. I think we need someone younger who is experienced, but also equipped to handle the changing landscape of college football.

In my opinion, the best hires would be Fickell or Matt Campbell.
