tOSU at USC...I suppose one team has to win.

Responding to this:

Given the fact that tOSU and USC play each other there is no way they go undefeated

SEC hype aside, there is no way LSU would get back in. If OSU or USC goes undefeated they are an auto in. If OU goes undefeated, playing Cincinnati and Washington trumps LSU's OOC wins.

I just don't see how an undefeated SEC team could possibly be left out of the national championship game after what the SEC has proven in national title games and BCS games over the last decade and specifically the last two years. Hasn't the SEC only lost like one or two BCS games total in the BCS history?

9-1 since 2002 (God damn you UGA. fricking cocky sons of bitches letting WVU sneak on them).

Before that though to the start of the BCS we were 1-3.

I don't think it would matter this year. If OU dominates and LSU squeaks by in some games against inferior SEC opponents, then I think LSU's low preseason start will kill them. Also, OU is expected to play some "top ranked" comp this year in the Big 12.

Not saying that I dont agree with you, my ideal BCSCG is a rematch of the best SEC teams.

Again for the record, all of this is speculation.

Oh my God, I knew the ACC had struggled, but I didn't know One-and-frikin-NINE ... I guess when Miami was in their heydey, the weren't technically in the ACC.

Its to hard to put a BCS conference team out, when they have a favorable record. And you never know, 3rd time could be the charm.

It's simple, if LSU goes undefeated, as the defending national champion, they are in.

The reason why they might pass up the SEC for the BCS if we all end up with 2 loss team in the SEC is for controversy. The more controversy there is out there concerning the BCS the more interest it will garner.

However, heaven help the team match up against the SEC team that get snub.

I didn't see if anyone posted this point, but there is not a chance in hell that the Defending National Champions go undefeated and get left out of the following championship game. That would never happen. It doesn't matter how close our games are. If we win out we are in. That's one of the perks of being the champs.

Let me be the first to Welcome You to 2008. George W. Bush is president, and perks are a thing of the past. The college football National Championship in 2008 is more of a crapshoot than a true measuring stick of the best teams in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association / not sure if you are aware of its formation in 1906). It is based off of a system called the BCS.

We are ranked low right now because of the quarterback questions. If we answer those questions (which we will apparently have done since we went undefeated), then yes we would jump people because of:

-beating UF in the swamp
-beating AU in their house
-beating hyped Georgia
-beating the winner of the east
-defending national champions
-SEC has won last 2 national championships

If we do not get in with the reasons listed above, the BCS has reached a new low...

With a genuine playoff in college football, I think an SEC team would win 8 out of 10 NC's. But every other conference is aware of this, thus there will never be a playoff.

I think barring everyone in the current top 3 loses one, LSU will be on the outside looking in.

One thing you can always count on with College Football:

People spending endless hours talking about shite that will NEVER happen.
