the hell I am. I thought JD wasn't that good in 2022....he improved (obviously) tremendously in 2023. He still had a few bad games or moments in games, as do all QBs.....but he was starting like his 50th college game. Nuss has literally started 6 total games. He is still learning....that's my only point....I would be a lot harder on him had he had all that experience. That said, the sledding is fixing to get tougher, and he needs to continue to improve.

Nuss is playing great. If we go 9-3 or 8-4 it won’t be Nuss’s fault.

Just like the 3 losses last year were not JD’s fault.

I wish people would say this shite about JD vs FSU 2 years ago. The worst special teams play, horredous OL play all game, WRs dropping multiple TDs, yet the only player doing something to win the game, was blamed them most, outside of coaches.

Some of yall play that favoritism shite. I remember people going after Daniels after the 2023 Ole Miss game as well.

Something I've realized heavy on this board is none of yall like Nuss to receive ANY critism, when you dogged Daniels any chance you got. Nuss not taking easy wide open runs and missing a 4 yard pass, is how we lost vs USC. Sure, the defense wasn't the best, but we held USC to 27. Sure the coaching was asschecks for portions of the game, but Nuss has to make a play. He's the one playing the game.

With all that said, Nuss is damn good for LSU, however, i wish he would make more explosive plays

You know why. Nuss shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as JD but JD was criticized way more than Nuss on here.

I won't go that far. If Nuss loses a game by a poor performance, he deserves the criticism. JD did not show up the second half of the Florida State game last year....and with the game on the line against OM, he didn't get it done the last 2 drives where we had a chance to put it away. OM was just as bad as we were last year on defense.

JD hit Hilton in the hands with that last pass vs OM. He also scored 49 points and still lost. That game was not on him

FSU last year was a horribly called game in the second half as was the 4th quarter vs OM which was eerily similar to the 4th vs USC this season. Now you can argue that a QB the level of JD could’ve got us out of some of those plays late vs OM or made one better decision but we don’t know how much freedom he was given there and judging by what they allow Nuss to do pre snap, it isn’t much. So if we’re being straight those games were on Kelly and the coaching.

I hate "Dual Threat" QB's...Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees were single threat QB's...and that is what my QB to be

Best Qb in the world right now is already 2nd best ever and might go down as the best is a Dual Threat Qb

The next 2 QBs lsu will have if things go right will be dual threat so get ready to not like them

This is NOT an NFL message board. It's an LSU message board. LSU plays college football.

Dual Threat QBs have DOMINATED in winning college football championships.

I regret they tried to force the run. It wasn't working in that game. It took USC scoring for LSU to actually open up the passing.

Lawrence had almost 1000 career rushing yards and 18 TDs. he was mobile for sure.

if you’re regularly finishing with + rushing yards and in his case a few seasons with 300+ you’re clearly running the ball.

because idk and website that doesn’t including yards lost in sacks in that number

Just a few idiots.
Most folks on here know that, while Nuss is a very good and talented QB, JD was an elite, Heisman QB and one of the very best to ever suit up for the Tigers.

Neither Nuss nor any one player deserves blame for the USC loss. That being said, he didn’t make elite plays at the end that could have brought a win. It’s not shitting on him to acknowledge that. He is improving and may make these kind of plays going forward. It’s not a novel thought, but to be considered great, you gotta make big plays at crunch time. He may get there.

JD made many great plays during his time at LSU (e.g., OT vs Bama). I don’t think I have to list them all. We all know them and we can all look up his highlights. Just like with Nuss, it is fair to say that he wasn’t great immediately. He got better with time. He worked his arse off and was exceptionally coachable to go along with his incredible talent.

I will mention Ole Miss game last year, though, since that was brought up, and it seems some may have forgotten.
JD made incredible plays at the end of the game, including a great, potential game winning throw that could easily have been caught.

University sites show yards gained vs net yards

Trevor Lawrence ran for 698 yds before sack yardage was removed

He would have been the teams second leading rusher, just like Burrow was at lsu in 2019.

Madking thinks both those guys were pocket passers lmao

yeah if you only ever watched him play LSU in the championship game you would have seen him
run for 49 yards and a TD. Which included 2 sacks for 11 yards.
