It's two different topics. If you are offended by what is happening at an event and don't want your kids to hear it then don't go. Then the other part is I'm not the one out there yelling that. I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Anyone here with a shred of decency knows and understands this. I love the song, the energy, etc. The STTDB is just completely filthy and is a bad look. But the idiots here will say something like "ok boomer" in response.
Agreed.
Regardless of what people say, there are some things that are prohibited to say or do in a public forum. No one has a right to be at football game and it is appropriate for the university to have rules governing acceptable behavior. If crowds of people started using racial slurs in their chants to a song, is there anyone on this board who thinks it would be appropriate for the university to do nothing? Would your response to someone offended by that behavior simply be "ok, boomer"?

Also, my personal pride in who I am and the respect I have for my family and university, preclude me from indulging in vulgar behavior.
Sounds good.

That chant may have been amusing to me at 18 or 19 years old. I doubt I would have participated in it even then, but it might have been funny for a minute.
The fact that you have 30 and 40-something adults (or even older) who still chant that like they’re teenagers is pretty embarrassing. They’re trash. Even worse, they don’t even care that they’re trash.
Lib alert! Lib Alert!! Hide in your safe space

I'm not offended by it, but it is embarrassing for our University.
This is a lame excuse. You should value what you learned, not where you learned it. There are people that went to community college that know more than LSU grads, and there are LSU grads that know more than Ivy League grads. Your worth isn't tied to the school. What people that attend a football game of the school you went to do is not a reflection on you. Until employers start refusing to interview LSU grads due to the STTDB chant, then it really doesn't matter.

This is so stupid.
You’re acting like he’s relegated to just pee wee football games. Because a bunch of immature kids (not you) act like pricks.
So dumb.

If someone's being vulgar, look at your kid and say "that's a filthy word and I don't ever want you to use it." People are going to be profane at a football game, whether it's Neck, calling the ref an a-hole, etc. If you can't bring your kid to a game because they'll pick up vulgar speech, that's a reflection of you losing control as a parent.
1 kid a past graduate and 2 currently at LSU... I'm fairly certain they participate in the vulgarity but they would not dare bring that up around me out of respect.
STTB is another whole level of vulgarity and I would bet a good many who come through the sports program and move on are glad to leave it behind.

Neck is not vulgar. It's the chant that goes with it, which they started chanting anyway, so why ban the song?
Posted on 2/1/20 at 9:57 am to Zephyrius
I don’t mind that it happens, but let’s be real: people might as well scream, “We are trashy.” Conveys the same message.

Or not be so easily offended. My opinion is to use the behavior as a parenting tool as what not to do. What is your solution? It's obvious that the vulgarity isn't going away.

Maybe you should take their phones, computer access, tv access, homeschool them, not let them leave the house, and keep your kids in a bubble wrap. That would keep your kids safe. I think the best bet for you and your kids is to move to a secluded place, build a wall around that place, grow your own food and never let anyone come into that
place.
Edit: Don't forget to bring your participation trophies with you.

IMO we do not need to adopt the misogynistic degrading culture of rap and Hollywood and let it poison college football.
Oh please. GTFO with this SJW nonsense. It has nothing to do with the degradation of women. And saying STD certainly didn't originate with rap or Hollywood. The saying is about power. Ancient Greeks would force trespassers on their land to perform fellatio on them. It wasn't about putting down women. It was about letting them know who had the power. Just like Chinese Empress Wu Hu expected male dignitaries to kiss her down below. Which is what STTDB is about.

So if someone here says f-you and your mom; you’re fine with that.
It’s just a teaching moment for you and yours.
If it bothers you, I’m telling you to go somewhere else.
Mkay. Got it.

Hell my 3 year old hears worse when I'm working on my truck at the house.
Stop being a bunch of bleeding vaginas. Your 10 year old probably knows more about vulgar shite than you know now.
Get over it.

Why should anyone else care about what offends you? That just sounds like a personal problem to me.
When did people get so presumptuous about thinking people should care about what offends them?

Come on, man. If you want to have a serious discussion about that's great. You're comparing a vulgar chant to being personally insulted by someone and that person specifically insulting my mother. That's the dumbest thing posted in this thread so far.

(only reinforces the dumb redneck stereotype many outside of LA have of us)
Those people hate you because of where you were born or live. Nothing you do will ever change their opinion of you. They are not worth even a minute of our consideration. Don't waste your time trying to impress people that will always think they are superior simply because of their geographic location.
DFW and OKC have incredible tech industries. Do you think the people whose opinions you care about see them as anything but dumb rednecks?

They don't want a serious discussion.
