if Welter could or would start "banging on" the other guys and start making some stops he would be more popular on this forum. I know he is doing his best and I respect him for that but he has not shown the ability to make the plays needed for the position he mans. those who say the db's are the problem are just as full of shite as those who say Welter is the problem. it's a complete unit failure we are witnessing and I know Chavis and staff are busting hump to try to correct the issues.

get a lot better, get ready...get even.

TheDoc, then explain the performance of Loston. He has done absolutely nothing this year. Pretty sure he is black, but you haven't heard anybody call him out. The secondary has been abyssmal. For anybody on this board to say that Welter is the only problem is a complete idiot and I would lump you in that category. Collins couldn't cover my grandmother.

It's not a difficult question... Nobody wants to answer it

loston and barrow are performing poorly but have performed well in the past. They aren't credited as being the coaches on the field per our staff.

Welter's responsibility is to set the D and try to not get embarrased too bad, he's never performed well and will never perform well, because he doesn't have what it takes to play big boy football.

He can't do either, thus he's fricking us up more than the other two.

It is clear that Welter is having a rough season.

He certainly looks no worse than any other back 7 player, except Kwon Alexander and, perhaps, Barrow.

No other linebacker stands out as clearly better. He appears to be in position to make a play far more often than the secondary, particularly the safeties.

He's as effective as most of our linebackers, some of our linemen and all of our defensive backs, thus far.

Improvement must happen at every position group, and basically every player except Kwon Alexander, and perhaps Jordan Allen, on defense, for us to be successful in the back half of the season.

While UGA is the best offense we will likely face, it is not hard to figure out that you block our rush with 5 or 6, put 4 or 5 into the pattern - if you complete those passes, you will get 6 to 8 yards every play. If we blitz, just run sideways or hit the hot route.

We also don't contain the QB very well, thus far.

ok, so the justification you have for Welter receiving more hate is bc everyone knew he sucked before the season started?
And the other two I mentioned, because they were expected to lead and really arent doing so now they get a pass, (BC they are confused bc welter doesnt put them in right positions) even though they are the players that have the most experience and Welter is in his first year... hmmmm.
Interesting.
You people are awesome...

nice deflection, you didnt even address my stance.

He can't set the D which is his main responsiblity. Plus, he's never performed well and will never perform well.

RANT: "Welter sucks," "everyone else is better," "he can't tackle."

REALITY: Welter led the team in tackles against Georgia.

TRUTH: Welter isn't a killer out there, he's having some issues, but he is contributing and producing as well or better than anyone.

I am not blaming Welter but I do think we need to start playing these younger guys that have more talent. I understand the hesitation due to them not having a grasp of the defense but if they don't start getting game experience we going to be going through this again next year. To be honest I am more concerned with the DL. You have to believe Freak and Ego are gone after this year. We need to start playing some of those freshman. It is obvious that you can not play in the SEC with 4 DT's. Especially when all of them are looking average at best.

He plays MLB and the defense is atrocious and looks lost more often than not. And he has visibly fricked up more times than I wish to remember. Even when he is in position to make a play, he gets owned often. What else do you need to know?

no you dodged the main stance.

U asked who was supposed to lead the defense PRESEASON. I said everyone knew Welter sucked preseason, thus peoeple were hoping Loston and Barrow would lead.

Neither have played great but both have performed in the past.

Welter has never performed well. On top of that it appears he can't even set the defense, which is the #1 reason he's supposed to be out there.

Do you read what you type?

Why do you give a pass for poor play regarding two guys for whom much more was expected vs a guy that you didn't have much expectations from the start? :
That absolutely makes zero fricking sense.

Yes, the DBs are also bad. We've had NFL DBs the last 5 years or so, and the ones we have now arent ready to play.
