If Kiffin is the coach, no one is gonna have much say in his staff. It’s full on what he wants and leave him alone.

If he does that, then that’s one of the reasons he’s never won shite.

That would be very Brian Kelly-ish (like when he came in and fired Tommy Moffet. Horrible move)

The scrambling QB is Blake's problem.

The frustrating part of that is: was the problem the scheme or was it the players?

How was his Missouri squad against mobile QBs?

Frank was on Kiffin’s staff at Tennessee in 09, I’m pretty sure he’s gonna keep him

Baker will probably be head football coach at Tulane next year so the point will be moot

You dont give Lane a blank check but stipulate his hires. I would hope he would elect to keep Frank, Corey and few select others due to LA HS/pipline connections, but no you don't handcuff your HC from day 1 like that by telling him to who to hire/retain

I want Kiffin. I don't necessarily want all the pieces around him. I think Baker is better than Golding.

May be what you want but if you make that a dealbreaker you won't get him or many other quality coaches.

that is exactly why I would not hire LK
If our D can't stay in tack with a new HC, then we are hiring the wrong guy.

You don't pay a guy this kind of money then tell him who to hire. Have you lost your fricking mind?

Our defense is currently 43rd in yards per play. Its, decent

I think you’re selling them short based off one metric. You don’t think this defense would have better stats across the board if the offense was good enough to regularly sustain drives? They would be a top 20 defense in every major stat. This group has had to carry the team in every single game. Trust your eyes, Bakers defense is better than decent.

Did you watch the ole miss, vandy, and texas am games? The points/yardage given up in the first half of those games isnt in our favor. First half kind of focuses on your point. So no, i dont think the offense makes the defense better. Lsu plays time of possession like a slug under kelly, so we were keeping the defense off the field that way also

Lsu is 113th in seconds per play, vandy is the only team slower in the sec

You guys wanting Lane so bad can't pick and choose assistants, too. That's the package you desire. Lane's staff is Lane's.
I favor Baker but Golding may be on the train. I'd love to see Wilson and Williams retained. Kyle's probably not on that train.

We need a complete overhaul of position coaches.

Wrong.
On offense sure get rude of all except Frank, he is your recruiting connection for most of south Louisiana, New Orleans for sure and he respected all over. Everyone else is expendable and clearly not worth their checks.

On Defense, Corey Raymond has brought us back to DBU. He saw Stamps wasn’t cutting it and benched him early for Woodland and Pickett. I know Delaine was already a good CB but can’t help but think CR helped make him a sure fire 1st rounder.
I’d love to keep Kyle Williams just because he is a LSU guy through and through. Loves this school and will bend over backwards to make it special.
If he decided to give Baker a chance I’m all for it. I think he did a good job this year considering he had ZERO help from the offense staying on the field or giving him any lead. The rest I have no opinion on either way

Do you think a $15 mil football coach is going to risk his credibility on giving his brother a key job?

Wow

This doesn’t really matter when you’re going 3 & out again and again. Or one first down then punt. LSU is 3rd from last in points scored in the SEC. They don’t move the ball. Defense has to carry the team. The defense is better than decent.

He only understands creating pressure through blitzes. Its one of the reasons he can't stop a running QB to save his life. We over pursue leading to missed tackles and bad angles.

You can scream at the sky all you want that you THINK Baker is a good DC, but at the end of the day hes shown his weakness continually.

Ha Lane taken the LSU job. It's the new coaches decision assuming any of the current coaches wish to remain.
