When you say Carroll ALWAYS loses games he shouldn't, or USC ALWAYS chokes, it just shows your memory is pretty shitty. Is Les a bad gameday coach because he lost to two teams he shouldn't have last year? no
Damn you for that.
Now who is going to clean up the mess of all the ranter heads exploding?

dude you can't compare losing to arkansas and kentucky to ucla and stanford. that islike comparing apples to oranges. arkansas and kentucky enjoyed new years day bowls while UCLA went to the emerald bowl and stanford watched the bowls from home. arkansas is the ONLY unranked team les miles has ever lost to and the first home game he lost since the very first home game he coached at LSU. LES Miles has beaten many more top 10 teams in the last 3 seasons than pete carroll, FACT.

Today on Colin Cowherd show, the inteview with Beano Cook, he stated USC shld be #1,but that he would put LSU at #2

on merit, they have earned that ranking
I would say that on meit, LSU is better than 2 of the top 5, just as good as another 2, and perhaps one (usc) is better.

before the auburn game, i thought lsu was overrated. now, i think they are rated appropriately due to win at auburn.
the teams ahead of them are all SOLID at qb (sanchez, bradford, stafford, tebow, daniel) and because of that I can't put LSU ahead of any of them. possibly mizzou b/c i think their defense needs some work, but as the season plays out, LSU can earn higher rankings....even if by default

We have a damn strong football team. We can control our own destiny. If we somehow make it through UGA and FLA and hell even ALA there is no way we can be ignored. This is not last year, our chances of winning the MNC are no where near what they were last year, but I think we will accomplish alot this year.. This I hold as a fact

We are talking chances before or immediately after the Arkie game?

I never said they were bad chances, but lets face facts.. The road to the championship was pretty much paved for us before the season even started

ha... i really meant before the Arkie game.. I didn't think we were going to the MNC while I was leaving the stadium that game

perhaps. The road win at Auburn is a good foundation for that proverbial "paved road".

Actually, I kind of would. We played down to their level. Arkansas was BOMBED by Mizzou. Kentucky ended up a fair to bad team. We should not have lost those games, especially the Kentucky game.

Yes, the win at Auburn has restored a lot of my confidence in our chances, but if we come out of Gainesville with a win I will be completely sold.

I think being ranked at 5 and 6 is right where we need to be. I was actually shocked to see that we jumped over Mizzou. You can argue that we should be ranked higher than we are but think about the top teams.
1)USC-Has dominated in the first 2 games they have played. The defense looks tough and Sanchez knows what he is doing with that offense.
2)Oklahoma-The real number 1 in my book. The offense is killer and Sam Bradford is still maturing as a quarterback. The defense has held against the opponents so far but I'm anxious to see them in Big 12 play.
3)Georgia-I'm not sold on the Bulldogs yet and the voters obviously aren't either which is apparent in the 1 to 3 drop. Matthew Stafford and Knowshawn Moreno is dangerous no matter where they are playing but they only put up 14 points on South Carolina. Vandy put up more points than that. I think we will see this team put to the test in the next couple weeks and they will come out on the wrong side.
4)Florida-At this point I think the Gators are better than us. Tebow is still tebow, although the numbers aren't there like last year. Percy Harvin is back and healthier than last year, plus a solid young defense from last year is back and more mature. They can kill you on special teams as well.
5)LSU-We're slowly figuring ourselves out. We have weapons at wide receiver and a possible Heisman contender at runningback. We haven't looked good at QB the first couple weeks until just the second half at Auburn. If Jarrett Lee can continue to look like that in SEC play, I'm sure LSU will continue to rise. We are exactly where we deserve to be right now.

we still have to play 2 of the teams ranked ahead of us. then, missouri and oklahoma will prob play in the big 12 championship game eliminating one of those 2 teams
And leaving the other one, along with USC, undefeated and ranked ahead of us.

Funny how all the LSU fans here bitched that ESPN seemed to pretty much lock up a title game position for USC in their analysis after one high profile game, but they expect the same for themselves.
There's quite a bit of difference between issuing an invitation to Miami before the middle of September and keeping a school at #6 when they're undefeated and are the only team that has won on the road against a top ten team.
If you seriously don't see any difference between putting USC in Miami already and ranking LSU 6th behind Missouri, Oklahoma and others, then...well forget it...of course you see the difference. No one could be that blind.

6 is just about right. i wouldn't argue against 5-7 right now
OK, then, make the case for four teams, based on accomplishments this year, to be ranked ahead of LSU. Name the four undefeated teams who have won on the road against a top ten team. Name the four undefeated teams who have put up 26 points and nearly 400 yards on a top-5 defense...on the road...with their starting QB knocked out of the game.

you need to chill out. we have made it through only 4 weeks of the season, and you are already talking like we are being robbed at a shot for the bcs title. let the season play itself out, and if we get hosed at that point, then you can start bitching. we are not the only undefeated team right now, and you can't rank every undefeated team at #1 and #2, so just LET THE SEASON PLAY ITSELF OUT. 2004 was a rarity. shite, we lost twice last year and still won it all.
