but they limited him in the last game for what it seemed like this exact reason.

i dont think its that big of a deal.

Interesting. I always thought that they were limiting him to have him at 100% for Wednesday.

I would have made the same decision that PM made. We win the national title if we win either today or tomorrow. We have a better chance of winning one of those games with a Anthony Ranaudo at 100%.

another factor that favors UT with their pitching depth is the oppressive heat! No starting pitcher will be able to maintain their velocity or command for more than 5-6 innings. We are used toColeman and Ranaudo being able to go 7-8 strong. We need a little break in heat to help us if we have to go 3.

Texas is done. Augie pulled a Wayne Graham last night...showed his cards.

they have 2 legit starters lined up to pitch today and tomorrow if nec

should the guy give a good outing tonight, it will be pretty evenly matched tomo

Anybody that thinks Ranaudo should pitch tonight flat out doesn't know baseball. Texas is putting their ace in for game 3 if it goes that for. So why wouldn't you want our ace (1A) to go against him? What if we pitch Ranaudo tonight on 3 days rest and he isn't as sharp as he normally is. Then we put all our eggs in one basket and would not be as bad as Arky but pretty close. By playing Ross tonight we didn't lay all our cards on the table. Starting Ross tonight just makes good common sense.

I've been reading these articles going back and forth and to tell you the truth there are pros and cons to both. We either play Ranaudo tonight or tomorrow. In my opinion another day of rest won't make that much of a difference. I would rather see us go for the kill tonight, but with either scenario (1.Ross tonight, 2.Ranaudo tonight) if we see two more games my guess is we would see Ross and Ranaudo. The problem I have with not going for the kill tonight is that Texas will have a lot of momentum for game 3 and we'll be on our heals with a lot of pressure on Ranuado's shoulders. If we play Ranaudo tonight then he may be a little hot, but he should feel less weight on his shoulders knowing that we have some cushion. He had cushion when he played against arkansas on Friday and he kicked their a$$. That being said, it isn't like playing Ross is the apocolypse. If we don't play better offense to start the game tonight as oppossed to last night, then we will be playing game 3 regardless of our pitcher for game 2.

I saw Renaudo go out in three innings the other day...no guarantees that the man will be hitting on all eight, with that heat. Hell...I thought Coleman was God...look what they did to him.

It's going to be a dogfight...no matter what. Probably tonite and tommorrow. Texas is deep in the pitching...our hitters will put them to the test.

If that freshman gets shook...that will help.

Great stuff.
