as far as '06 vs '07, the '07 team ended up proving they were the best team in college football per the computer rankings.

the '06 team proved it was a top 10 team via those rankings. the difference may have been the '06 team did not get the chance '07 did because they did not get to play extra games against an SEC East champ and a BCS NC opponent (vs getting Notre Dame), but '07 stepped up to the plate. We dont know if '06 would have. Also even despite that, '07 had better wins than the '06 team did, it's just '06 had better losses is the argument people also like to use.

this is one of the stupidest things ever posted on the rant

my first post in this thread addressed that IDGAF what he did after he left LSU because that is the raiders problem not mine. I have no affiliation with the raiders but I love LSU and still appreciate what JR did 'while he was here.'. his failure in the NFL does nothing to change what I saw him do in tiger stadium.

some of the morons in this thread want to disassociate JR from LSU and the football program all together. why? he gained weight? failed in the NFL? (ZOMG that has never happened before) had codeine without a prescription (allegedly)? are we going to go down the list of former tigers and allow them back at LSU only if they had great pro careers and zero personal problems?

reportedly michael Clayton sucked in the NFL after his rookie year because he is an alcoholic (effectively committing the cardinal sin of fleecing the buccs for millions). are we disassociating ourselves from him? no because it's not as fun to rip on Clayton.

maybe. just fricking maybe. he likes/loves LSU. maybe he bleeds purple and gold more than any of you frickwads hating on his arse because he practiced sweated and bled for LSU football while he was here. maybe not getting his degree is something he really regrets. he beat Bama, AU, UF, ole miss etc while he was the starting qb for my lsu tigers and I for one appreciate what he did for us while he was here.

Yep, I admit I don't get some folks' reasoning.

Hell, I don't hate on any former LSU player because it's about what they did for LSU.

If I was going to be self-righteous and hate on ANYBODY, it would be Billy Cannon the counterfeiter. But his failures and mistakes have nothing to do with what he did while he wore purple and gold.

Face it. Many of these folks are orgasmic when the perceive a former Tiger makes a mistake. They love him when he wears the purple and gold, but then can't wait until he leaves campus, where they can look at him as just another N-word.

I remember wondering why JR didnt do more check offs at the line of scrimmage while he was here. Was he dumb? What was the story? Then someone on the team told me his work ethic was pathetic, that coaches were frustrated that JR wouldnt spend more time in the film room studying.

He went to the pros and proved all the talk about his character spot on.

Jimbo Fisher was on the record that he asked Jamarcus to do as much at the line of scrimage as any of our qbs he coached his time at LSU.

he either said as much or more I forget. JR was zero trouble at LSU. ZERO. Theres a reason 2 different head coaches picked him. McChowder is just plain fricking wrong.

What would you expect Jimbo to say? You expect he would throw the guy under the bus publically?

He was an incredible athlete with a cannon arm. That is why the coaches picked him. Hell, that's the only damn reason he got picked 1st in the draft. The coaches were upset he didnt do more film study, that he only did enough to "get by". That is what I mean by poor work ethic. The guy just seemed content on coasting on talent alone.

If they were upset they would have benched him and not told the press the exact opposite of what you're saying.
