one of the most humble people I have ever met, great guy and my all time favorite LSU player!

Shared this elsewhere, but I ran into him at my boss' house while it was still under construction late last Summer/Early Fall.
As previously stated, he is an extremely humble fella. Could've gone to camp with San Diego after the whole Vincent Jackson holdout deal, but wanted to be near home for the birth of his child (wife's due date was in the middle of training camp) and to "get on with the rest of my life" as he put it.
NFL pays for 5 years of school after you announce your official retirement, so he said he was enrolling.
He made mention that he was really interested in getting back into the sport by training kids. Whether it was coaching, or preparing kids in the offseason for the draft, or their upcoming HS seasons, etc. He mentioned he'd been around the S&C facilities on campus, as well.
Crazy memory of seeing J Reed bound around a corner with a loaded Baby Bjorn strapped across his chest.
Really great ambassador for the program, having carved out a pretty long career in a pretty inhospitable football environment (The Bills while he was there were simply not good), and his attitude is just awesome.
Having him around the Football program can do nothing but good for our current program.

"I was actually excited to come back. I tried out in San Diego, and I didn't make it there," Reed said. "When they called me back to tell me I didn't make the team I was like, ‘Yes,' and we packed up our stuff within two to three days and we were out of there. I was ready to come home."

My all time favorite Tiger. I went to a Bills/Cowboys game in Dallas years back and got to tailgate with his Mom, Uncle, and a couple of his other family members. It was quite an experience.

I wonder if the Tigers have room for another receivers coach.
This would be great.

Whatev, homeslice. Just relaying what was told to me.
Thanks for the correction, though. The story was incredibly ridiculous until you brought that clarification to the table. Thanks, LSU backup TE Mitch Broseph.

Best QB to WR combo in LSU history--period
Beg to differ... That would probably be Russell/Bowe stat wise...

I will be sure to hit up Shep in class. "GO FIND JOSH! NOW!"
I've seen Byrd a few times in the Quad this semester.

Reed likes white girls more than Justin Vincent! Not taking anything away from his college days. He was in a business office that I was in about a year ago and flat out asked a fellow co worker to hook him up with receptionist. Asked multiple times.

I met him once at a bar just after he finished his last season and had won the Bilitnekoff. He was super cool and seemed like a polished individual.
He was without a doubt one of the top five LSU players I've enjoyed watching. He was one of those rare players who could just ALWAYS produce. Teams gameplanned to stop him and he still got his.
One of the major reasons I love college more than the NFL is that you still have the ability to see players who are head and shoulders better than the competition. Just like PP7. Josh Reed was that mold at LSU. Dwayne Bowe is a better pro due to his size/stature. Josh Reed was a better college reciever no doubt. Just watch Reed's game against Alabama where he went for like 250 and was literally unstoppable.

Super guy, loves to play golf, he came out for a lesson and I couldn't resist. I started talking trash and told him I could lock him down and he wouldn't catch a pass off me. He laughed and lined up, I kept trash talking, as soon as the ball was snapped I corner blitzed the guy throwing the pass and forced the fumble. No catch for reed he got locked down. We got a great laugh out of it, super classy guy he is second only to David Toms on my list of Lsu superstar nice guys!

You better find some obscure arse stats to win that argument. Rohan to Reed>>>>>>>>>>>>JR to any of his 1st round receivers.
