So my understanding is 82 total meetings, both joining the SEC in 1932, both in the SoCon before leaving to form the SEC, both in the SEC west playing each other every year since 1964, and you aren’t considered rivals. Understandable

By definition, everyone in the sec west and UF are our rivals.

Old timers and historians would disagree. Ole Piss, Moo State and Tulane were the schools we played every year. Because of how good both teams were in the 50's, Ole Miss/LSU became the marquee matchup and solidified that rivalry over the Moo State and Tulane rivalries. The LSU/Tulane rivalry was a bit like the Alabama/Auburn rivalry in that Tulane would often play over their heads when they played LSU like Auburn sometimes does with Bama.

That is true.

Because LSU is a good program and deserves respect? Do you really not understand that? How dumb can you be?

Rice was also considered a non conference rival decades ago. If the visiting team was victorious, lots of traffic tickets back when you went straight to court or jail just before visiting fans drove across the state line.
A&M and LSU have had epic battles over top recruits in the past.

If you'd like, I will be your rival. Having a rival seems to be very important to you. As a fellow LSU fan, I will be happy to oblige.
(But LSU still isn't Alabama's rival, and they aren't ours)

A&M hopes their are good enough that some one would call them a RIVAL!!!

What’s your point? Are you upset that we aren’t rivals?
Posted on 10/30/18 at 9:29 am to OKTGR580
Its more of a grudge match than a rivalry. I just hate those frickers.

Call it whatever you want.
If Bama loses to anyone but us or Auburn, they don't care. It was just a bad game, and all of their goals are likely still in front of them an in their control.
They lose to LSU or Auburn, they risk not being able to win the SEC or make the playoffs. Doesn't matter that they've beaten us 7 in a row, they have to beat us to reach their goals or risk losing control of their own destiny. It's why they jump around and celebrate after beating us every year, b/c they know the first and sometimes only obstacle to an SEC championship and playoff berth has been completed.

Yes...LSU/Bama “rivalry” is about as much a rivalry as LSU/A&M. To be a rivalry, the other team has to actually win occasionally
So bama and Tennessee are not rivals? Bama says they are. And Tennessee hasn’t won in how long? They are historical rivals.
LSU may not be bama’s rival, but it’s the game their players, coaches and fans circle each year. ESPECIALLY when it’s in BR.

We’ll get no respect until we beat Bama on a regular basis.

Yikes man.
Saying someone isn’t a rival doesn’t mean you don’t respect them. You don’t think Bama respects Clemson and vice versa?
You sound ridiculously insecure.

LSU isn’t Alabama’s rival but we ARE Bama’s Super Bowl.

“Rivalry: competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field.”
Pretty sure we are rivals.
