re: Keiland Problems?

SlowFlow I don't agree. That is like saying it doesn't matter what Ryan Perrilloux did or what he does at practice that we need to go with the guy that could get it done on the field. Only the staff knows what is really going on with the situation. I also agree that KW is a great back and should get more PT.

Hey! I'm not trying to start anything or belittle anyone. I agree too that KW should get more carries, but obviously something is going on in order for him to not get the time he deserves. But, to say you don't care if a running back misses an assignment that he needs to play because of productivity is almost like saying that the best QB on the field who misses practice doesn't have to follow rules because he is the best of the all.

they may truly believe that whomever works the hardest and does everything right deserves to start over a possibly better player.
because that player is going to be mentally ready to accept whatever adversity presents itself during the game and the season...do you not think that work ethic, focus, practice habits, etc. are important predictors of success?
Let's say player A has tremendous physical talent. On the first play gains 20 yards, second gains 15. On the third play the QB checks to a pass but player A mis-reads a block and the qb gets hit and fumbles. Player B, on the same plays, gains 15 yards, 10 yards, picks up the block on the third and the qb throws for a TD. The pick-up was covered in practice, but player A couldn't quite grasp the play. The coach, knowing that the play was a good option at any point during the drive, plays player B...
Meanwhile, threads are started on the Rant discussing how the coaches are playing B only because he's an upperclassman and has paid his dues...

Wait, who'd Keiland punch?
I have no idea where that came from...at Auburn though, that's called leadership

It's more like:
Player A takes the first one for 15 yards. Takes the 2nd one for 45 for a TD.
Player B takes the first one for 3 yards. Player B takes the second one 3 yards. Player B makes the block on 3rd down but your QB can't throw the ball further than 10 yards so you end up punting.

I'm not saying he (DM) was right or wrong. When asked why KW isn't the go to guy he said it was an issue of not knowing the plays. There was some discussion and nothing about fumbling came up.

KW doesn't fumble, that's bullshite, all I can say is must be his practice habits, doesn't go hard enough I guess, and with the coaches that will get you less PT.

KW better keep his fists in his pockets. Roughing up teammates is not a good way to get on Miles good side.

we're trying to argue with a board that had a stickied thread yesterday because Hester scored a 1 yard pre-season TD.

Maybe it was because he was criticized so much last year. Isn't that what this thread is really about? Some fans just couldn't accept that Hester was the go to guy last season. How could he beat out KW who had already been anointed by SFP. Now it appears that Scott will beat him out as well.
How many did your favorite player score? Hopefully next week we will have a sticky for him whomever he is.

Read Miles comments about the TB's in the TIGERRAG. The issue about KW is that he is telling us, the coaches are telling us, and the circumstances are telling us things about KW that most will deny. Let me point them out for the unwilling. First in the TIGERRAG KW himself said that he was surprised that he did not get more carries last year. Read it. Why?? He is not hearing what the coaches are telling him and they are not on the same page. A example would be with my children. "Well I can't understand why Dad got mad at me." Daaaaa.. They know what I want, know what I don't want them to do, yet can't see why I am unhappy with them (their actions.) Its an issue of strong personality and immaturity and desire to change. Second, in Miles comments in the TIGERRAG, KW was the last TB to be mentioned and later when he was specifically asked about KW, he mentioned KW has a big "upside." First, it is obvious that KW has disappointed the coaches in ways we, as fans, can't understand. It probably touches a number of issues apart from athletic ability, that are critical for the coaches to see develop in a player. It also probably deals with the expectations that the coaches have of KW, and him falling short of them. Finally the circumstances speak for themselves. When Miles yanks KW out of the spring game after a fumble (he had some solid runs just before) and doesn't put him back in, strongly indicates he is in some sort of doghouse with a tight lease. Why?? Don't know alot of it but I definitely see it. It has nothing to do with fumbling dudes. Goodness gracious. About his fists??? Just like some hot heads I know, they take it out on friends (or teammates) when they are really mad at wives (or coaches.) LSU staff wants to win with a passion. They are going to put the best player, not necessarily the best athlete, on the field at all...all...all times. Things will become clearer as the season progresses, I think. As I have said many times, KW may be our best TB, but I don't think so... and right now neither do the coaches.
