I view this as a positive characteristic.

I can see not wanting to deal with the media but sadly it comes with the job and does not give him the right to be so arrogant. I for one would take Les Mile's bizzare commentary anyday over that. I think thats how most people get to know the coach and thats the sample size they get of him he is a dbag for sure.

The guy seems like he's doing everything he has to, including dealing with the media. Answer their simple-minded questions and get on with preparation. Taking care of business...that's what should scare us.

I do as well, but know a couple Oregon "boosters" who believe the man to be totally arrogant without reason.

but how he knows all these facts kind of scares me.

He researched how many starts our QB has made and referenced his stats.

It's not like he said, "I know he wears purple boxer briefs and takes his pre-practice dump at 2:30 every day."

Oregon is really focused.

Darron Thomas says this is bigger than the national championship game to him, considering he almost went to LSU.

I'm getting nervous about this game. Hopefully our defense is as good as advertised.

Lot of that is just a regional thing, I think. He's a NE guy; talks fast, doesn't suffer fools. I'm sure it doesn't come off well in the South.

If the man continues to win ten games a year, then who really cares?

IMO he isnt arrogant at all, he just gets tired of the same questions over and over by our local media, i can totally see why he gets short with them! I also believe it comes with having a east coast guy as a coach here on the west coast, his attitude is different then peoples around here, but that dont mean he is arrogant, and i personally know a bunch of boosters, including my parents, who love chip kelly, so i guess its whatever a person likes!

I agree, but personally don't think he has reached the point of being considered elite. IF is a major separation between fantasy and reality.

This. The guy is 100% coach and you know his team will be ready. I am confident we can win but Oregon will be a very tough opponent.

Possibly. There is a real difference between the two and they way people are usually treated.

im glad you agree, its funny, our local abc news station KEZI, wasnt even aloud a interview at pac12 media day, those guys at that station will not leave the willy lyles thing alone, even after being told a 100 times he cant comment on the situation until the ncaa says he can :beatdeadhorse: ... i play soccer with one of the sports casters there, he said chip kelly does come off that way, but he really is a cool guy when he dont have 20 cameras in his face, with exception to George Schroder, and John Canzano, Kelly dont give them the time or the day, because they are hacks, as you guys found out with Canzano!
