So is "Sunshine" going to be the nickname given to Rettig?

This will be MF/JR and JJ/JL all over again. Whoever is in, some will call for the other QB.

They don't know much more.
It will come down to PSRs and grasp of the dreaded "Playbook".
You know the one from which all Rantards can predict with 99% acccuracy the call for each D&D, but QBs need 2 seasons to master.

boys if you have a QB controversy that involves 1 true freshman, that's bad... 2 true frosh and the incumbent.... that's really bad.

Mett ain't the problem.... the 1940's playbook and bad playcalling is the problem.
Mett never had much chance to get in rhythm all season because everything was always so run heavy. Hard to ask a QB to make throws in crunch time when he hasn't been allowed to do it the first 3 qtrs.
I'm sure the two freshmen are gonna be good players... but if they have to play in year one it usually spells doom for the offense. NOT ALWAYS but usually.

Rettig was far from impressive in the Army All-American game in San Antonio.
Albeit he did make it to the game, so idk

Please no. Giving someone a nickname you didn't grow up with, don't hang with, or even know is "GAY".

The even better part about it is both are very good and you really can't go wrong with either one.
And you've seen them both play against SEC competition how many times?

High school productivity and stats don't mean shite.

Can they learn the play book quickly? How about their ability to read defenses? What about managing the game? Can they stay calm under pressure?

From what I gather, one can pass and one can run fast. Until those questions are answered, I'd say any numbers of things can go wrong. Better stop the cheerleading until they prove it on the field.

Remember, RS was all ALL WORLD in high school. How'd that translate to LSU/SEC?

I'm holding out for Rivers to step up.

I've seen the video for both QBs (Rettig and Rivers), and I see unique talent from both of them, but I remain anxious to see what Rivers has learned and can apply to open up the LSU rushing attack.

and yet, neither has thrown one pass to a LSU receiver yet. May have to build another stadium addition.

personally i would like to see Anthony Jennings get the starting role after Mett. I think a dual threat qb works better in an SEC atmosphere. History doesnt lie.
