What about LSU 2007? Who was that "inexperienced" QB that lead LSU to the NC?

Ok tubucoco, first of all, NO ONE is saying that saban is a bad coach. You would have to be completely stupid to say that. All we are saying is that compared to some of the records he had while at LSU with his own recruits compared with what miles did in his first 4 years, miles record is better. Miles has 3 seasons in a row where we only lost 2 games. Saban only did that 1 time. Maybe you should just learn how to read and not see things that aren't there. No one at LSU would say that saban didn't help resurrect this team, all we are saying is that we are thrilled to have the coach we have, and based on how saban completely scamed his way out of LSU and Miami, we wouldn't be surprised to see him do it at alabama. And to the alabama fan, a loss to ULM is still a loss to ULM. Let me ask you this, are ya'll a sec team? Should an SEC team ever lose to ULM? No End of discussion, no matter what kind of game or season you have, you shuold never EVER lose to ULM. i am from monroe and grew up watching them play, they aren't that good. Please own up to that. We lost to UAB, you don't see us making excuses, we got beat, plain and simple, but guess who was coaching both of those games? Your boy saban

Again, Shula's non-disciplined, couldnt care less players. The final fumble came from a Shula recruit who was trafficking coke by the way

And in that ULM game, who was coaching those "non-disciplined, couldn't care less" players?

It's an amazing double standard with Bama fans. Between 2005-2007 all of LSU's success is because of the previous coach, and any sort of blame is because of Miles. Yet, when Alabama loses to ULM, the blame is because of the players Shula recruited, and not Saban's fault one bit?

Everything positive LSU does is solely due to Saban.

Anything bad that happens for Bama is because of Shula.

I do give Bama fans one thing, no matter what Saban does, he is a god to them and can do no wrong.

no time to read every reply, but one day as I was listining to Bill King he said "it is much harder to take over a team that is on top and keep it on top, than to take over a team on the bottom and bring it to the top", and they were speaking of cns and clm when he made this statement. so i guess it just a matter of opinion.

Then maybe you should support Bama and not run down LSU.

The last thing I remember about Saban was not too pleasant, a loss to Iowa. Nonetheless, in the long run I think we would have been very happy with Saban, but he decided to leave for whatever reasons. We were forced to find a new coach.

So what is the point of this ridiculously long thread? Why are we comparing Alabama's coach to our coach. What good purpose does it serve? How will our program benefit from this comparison?

We can only hope Miles, and Miles alone can bring us another MNC.

Miles-bashers just giving other Miles-bashers a thread to bash Miles in.

Les Miles vs. Nick Saban

I don't know. Miles is bigger and stronger. But Saban seems a little quicker and would probably bring in a weapon of some sort.

In the end, though, I think Miles would win.

Good thinking, but, hang on for a second . . . in a straight up deathmatch with no weapons, I think that Saban would get in a sneaky "eye-gouge" and turn the tables on Miles, who would undoubtedly approach the fight in a more Gentlemanly manner and assume Marquis of Queensbury rules applies . . . plus don't discount the possiblility that Saban would sneak in a shank or win by some other trickery.

So, I wouldn't just assume that Miles would win because he's bigger and stronger, because, Miles would be subject to Saban's tricky, sneaky tactics.

The dangerous thing for Miles is that his eyes wouldn't be the things at Saban's gouge level.

Never doubt the hat. When's the last time you saw Saban fake a punt from his own endzone?

Very good point that I hadn't thought of . . . this leads me to predict that Saban would see only one way to win . . . sneak a shank into the cage . . . Saban could hide it in his rectum until needed.

I think Saban inherited some talent at LSU. Namely Rohan Davey, Josh Reed, Eric Edwards, Dominick davis, Toefield, Trev Faulk, Bradie James...ect.. ect..

The program was down but talent was there. Les probably got LSU with better talent than Saban did but won more games.

It is a matter of opinion. That is all.

that is a good post. I believe that both are completely different coaches. Both got different levels of talent. I do think Miles got more talent, but like you, i also know that miles won more games. And any sensible thinking person that wouldn't at least tip your hat to the amazing job miles did in his first year, (beating florida, alabama, arkansas, auburn and ole miss) and winning 10 games in a row and then killing a good miami team is an absolute moron. Saban never beat those teams in 1 year. I believe that LSU will be better with miles than it would've been with saban. And i do believe miles would win in a fight, he just seems to have that fighter mentality.
