Easy. For me its because of the catastrophe that was last year.

Good example, As much as I hate Arkansas, I shook my head to when he made that comment.
have you ever considered that it was done tongue in cheeK?

quote:Most do have a comfort level. But you are right about a select few LSU fans. Some of them have an uneasy comfort level because their nature is to be worried, negative and pessimistic. They have developed (unhealthily, btw) an irrational aversion to optimism and "getting their hopes up," and that has clouded their ability to rationally assess Miles and realize the rational expectations of success.
Why do LSU fans still have an uneasy comfort level with Les Miles being a dominate coach?
The rest just don't know dick about football but like to complain.

He just doesn't fit that ALPHA MALE coach type that some of the big time coaches are I.E Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Pete Carroll, Bobby Stoops and so forth...
Les would beat the shite out of all of these guys in a fight.

I actually like Mile's way of speaking and in person he is very well spoken and is kinda entertaining. As far as close wins they were wins just look back at some of the games Saban lost.

When deNerdo was coach I always had a premonition of catastrophe. Miles is a good SEC coach, period. PerryLouie and bum DC's screwed up last years season and Miles has now fixed it. After this season all will be forgiven.
Saban shouldn't have lost the '03 game to UF and Miles shouldn't have won the '07 game. It's the SEC - Schiitt happens.

he did try to call a timeout once after a turnover to stop the clock also

I find that most of my friends from north LA dislike Miles the most. I really think it is that mid-western twang that they just can't get over.
Prime example: Glen Dildeaux
P.S. I don't consider him one of my friends

3.75 million dollar coaches shouldn't even come close to producing catastrophes like that.

In general, the 2008 season left me with a pretty uneasy feeling. I don't mind an executive or managerial HC, as long as the bottonline(winning) occurs. I believe the conduct of this season will allay or reinforce some deepseated anxieties I have about Miles' ability as HC. KC.
