I love reading all these people saying:
1) No way Les leaves LSU
2) No way LSU gets rid of Les
3) No way LSU gets enough money to buy out Les
4) No way Gruden wants to coach at LSU
5) No way Gruden doesn't take a NFL job
It's like Jim Mora said as Saints coach, "You really don't know...You think you know, but you don't know"

they moved on from him haven't they?

Y’all people crack me up.
First off, this would be a step down from LSU, not even a lateral move. Why in the hell would he voluntarily do this, because there won’t be as much pressure to win? Do you really think he’s worried about that?
And if any of you think LM is worried about a bunch of tards on a chat room that think they have any influence whatsoever in what happens at LSU, well, you’re kidding yourselves. Nor is he worried about what the media or anyone else thinks. Do you think Saban is worried that people thinks he’s a liar or a first class A-hole to be around. Do you think Mac Brown is going to step down right now because his team has slipped badly and is doing so because of people’s opinion?
No coach is going to quit or move based on what any fan base thinks. He will make those moves solely on what’s best for him. He’s making big bucks, has winning seasons consistently, won a NC, and may be an OC away from a new one. Yea, he’s going to step down. At least give yourselves some credibility by saying it’s to Michigan.

I'm with ya to an extent, but it's not as far-fetched as some think...see my long post above. Just as you said, Miles is going to do what's best for him financially and professionly (as almost all coaches do), and there are circumstances that could arise that would arguably make Colorado the best financial/professional decision for Miles.

I'm in Denver today and it's the primary thing they're discussing on sports talk radio, that Miles loves Colorado, and it's rumored he has been in discussion with the athletic department and board of regents, McCartney and Miles are very close and McCartney is pushing Miles on the powers that be, etc.
Sorry to beat a dead horse but figured I'd share. Callers seem to be in favor of the move. Hawkins is already being discussed in the past tense.
Thanks for the great news! Maybe you could post a radio station number on here so we can all call in, as CU fans, and keep the hire Les ball rolling in Denver!
There is always hope!

No, you shouldnt have to be watching over an OC at the same time. THe OC should be trustworthy enough to do his job, and our's is NOT!

First off, if you think he could not land a good job if let go you are crazy. He ran a clean program, has top ten recruiting classes constantly if not higher, has a great winning percentage in the SEC and won a NC.
Most coaches aren’t coaching only for the check. I bet if he hits the powerball Saturday he would still be coaching. They do it for the challenge and it’s what they love. Its not a job like you and I have that is there to solely support a family. The money is a nice bonus and a part of the equation, but not all of it.
No big time coach is going to coach or make decisions on what might happened or in trying to avoid the worst. I bet he has 100% confidence in himself and his future at LSU or wherever he coaches. He’s not going to leave because he’s scared he might get fired and might not get another job so he better take this step down to a smaller school for less money to be safe.
This is about as funny as (I forgot what peon school) was saying, maybe Saban will come here because he already proved himself and now he can prove himself here.

Hey, I agree with the premise that Miles is a good coach, I'm just saying if LSU goes 8-4 it might not just be Miles' decision, some at LSU might give him a little "nudging" so-to-speak. It won't be a question of Miles being scared of being fired in the future, moreso LSU admins telling him "you're getting fired at some point in the future, so you might want to think about that Colorado job." And although I like Miles, I can't disagree with the notion that it may be in LSU's best interests to see what kind of deal can be struck with Colorado. At the end of the day, its a business, and everyone involved is going to try and make the best business decision. Like I said, don't be surprised if behind closed doors, LSU tells Miles to take the Colorado job and we'll give you $1 million a year for X number of years on top of that and we don't look bad for firing you and you don't look bad for getting fired.
I'm not saying I agree or disagree or want Miles to leave or anything like that, I'm just saying it's not as far-fetched as some might think if LSU ends up 8-4 or 9-3.
If Miles goes 10-2 or better, this whole conversation is moot based on a lot of the things you just said.

Finally, a place it will be appropriate for Les to wear his jacket every game!

I'm going to laugh my arse off when Miles leaves and we win 7 games the year after, the amount of people that will completely go overboard wishing for Miles back.
then we win the SECW, and you won't remember who the frick he was, lol.

Exactly. There is no doubt some fans are hoping we lose games so that we can fire him. They would rather be right, lose games than be wrong and he wins a ton.
I don’t get it. I’ve said countless times, I know he has issues just like every coach out there. They all do or one coach would go undefeated and win a NC every year. Does anyone else see how few coaches do this? And don’t throw the, but we’re LSU and we should. FL, TX, USC, AL, OK, Mich and a whole bunch of others can say the same thing, they should also.
He runs a clean program, recruits as good as anyone, recruits kids with character (very few exceptions here), is well liked by his players and parents, doesn’t come across as a A hole, wins games. He should get credit for the defense and special teams because he recruited kids and the coaches coaching them. If he hires the OC next year as good as he did the DC last year, you do realize that may very well be the final piece.
Who would you hire (not that any of these would come) Mac Brown – what has he really done, UM – doesn’t look so great without Tebow, Stoops – again what has he done at Ok, Tressel –what has he done there. So now the real candidates are from smaller schools. The Boise coaches haven’t proven anything when they leave, and who’s to say the TCU, Utah or any other coach can really handle a SEC school. So it’s a 100% crapshoot. You realize any of these guys can be the next Hallman or Archer don’t you?
Why not instead see what you have, assume the man will make a great hire in the OC and get us back in the SECCG or better.

no shot this happens.... even if Miles is stupid enough to actually entertain the idea, his wife and his agent aren't...
the paycut would be significant... even with all the shite being said about him here, you don't leave an LSU and it's program for Colorado and theirs...

Right. It would be for the quality of life that Boulder and Colorado in general has to offer. Miles is rich as shite already and doesn't need the money.

ain't happening, that's a monster career regression
the problem with miles at lsu, from his perspective. is that no matter what he does, he will live in the shadow of the late great nick saban. the level of success he would have to achieve to get out of that shadow is probably not possible. and think, saban never had an undefeated season here and his last year was pretty damn bad. BUT, at bama, two undefeated regualar seasons. so many of our fans are comparing present day miles vs present day saban and completely forget the eggs saban layed while at lsu. it's an impossible standard that maybe only a change will repair. once you've made as many millions as he has, maybe a less pressure cooker enviroment, even with less pay, might appeal to him. if they come up with a 5 yr deal worth 15 million instead of our 19 million, the after tax net money's is not all that different and may be worth it to him.

If MIles goes 9-4, we're supposed to give him a raise.
But Saban's 9-4 season after a national championship was "really bad". (Funny, I don't remember Saban or LSU being a national laughing stock that year).
