I like McMahon and McCasland and would be happy with either.
McCasland just went 24-6 and didn't earn a bid to the tournament. Now may be the time to entice him away from a 1 bid conference.
McCasland isn't interested in being average, and he wants to win a championship. YouTube link of McCasland being mic'd up.
Highlight is at 1:13 mark.

I just want someone who runs a motion offense so I don’t have to hear the phrase “streetball” ever again.

In a thread about LSU candidates.
I'm sure you were just opining on college coaches you admire, completely unrelated to LSU's current opening.

yes I like ed cooley, i said so
I even explained why I like ed cooley
yes lsu has a coaching opening
ed cooley is from providence, RI has been the HC at Providence College for 11 seasons, and he went to Stonehill
so what?
lots of know it alls said Brian Kelley was never leaving ND
so what?
I like ed cooley, in his interviews he seems like a genuine dude. there, we are back to square one

Some further food for thought....here's how these coach's programs ranked this year in defensive and offensive efficiency:
Defensive Efficiency:
LSU (6)
North Texas (10)
Murray St. (13)
Baylor (15)
Okie State (17)
San Francisco (31)
UAB (34)
La Tech (98)
Cleveland State (175)
Offensive Efficiency:
Murray State (14)
UAB (20)
Baylor (25)
San Francisco (54)
Cleveland State (61)
La Tech (86)
North Texas (104)
LSU (160)
Okie State (283)
McMahon's resume looks even better with these numbers.

I like most of these candidates. I still think we're gonna struggle to even get a young up and comer or anyone established but hoping for the best

Curious to know how much we spend on this hire. We have to go over 3mil/yr to get to that top 25 salary range. SW may have to hit 4mil to get the guy he wants.

The only ones on the list who are even remote possibilities are McCasland and McMahon, even they are relative longshots.. It will 100% NOT be Buzz or Kennedy.

Tate and some B of S members will probably be pushing for a minority hire.

Relative longshots because they might not take it or relative longshots because they might not be offered the job?

Its basketball, they should have a decent pool.

Got to watch his team this year vs Auburn and they were pretty solid, and never seemed to be phased or anything. Then they were just insanely better than any other team they faced on the season. Really good looking team, hoping they lose in the NCAA tourny so he doesn't get even more recognition

Relative longshots bc they might not get offered.

His team is currently 30-2 with losses to East Tennessee State and Auburn.
Couldn’t even beat ETSU. Don’t want.

Man, we could go a lot worse that McCasland and McMahon, but I like your optimism. I just dont see it unless we already have a deal in place with the NCAA and relatively minor sanctions are announced before the hire.

Woodward has no issue vastly over paying for a coach
That’s what he does. “Woody” is so great and slick.
“Lincoln Riley, will you come coach LSU?” “No…?”
(Moves onto second choice)
“Hey Jimbo. Woody here. Will you come coach LSU?”
“No…?”
(Moves onto third choice)
“Hey Brian. Woody here…you may have heard of me. Kind of a big deal in Baton Rouge…”
“No…?”
“Oh, well, anyways…will you come coach LSU? I’m kind of desperate. How’s $95,000,000.00 sound?”

Everyone is overthinking the sanctions. It won't matter as much as people say/think. Say we get a 1 year postseason ban, some lost scholarships, and probation. That is not gonna deter a coach that wants to be here for the long haul. The money that Woodward is willing to pay also helps a ton.

Not any specific names, have heard that the main target is someone coaching in the NCAA Tourney but thats all in terms of specifics.

exactly
the #1 thing HCs have to offer is playing time, #2 is brand identity and exposure
commitment defections, transfers, cuts, etc will open the roster for the new HC
LSU is a brand, the SEC is top level exposure, NIL makes pay for play a lot easier
