Condolences to you and your family. May he rest in peace in the presence of the Almighty.

Referring to your accounts of listening to Tiger games with your Dad, I recall the exact same with my Dad (who passed away in 1997). He would sit at the dining room table with a Hi-Ball and the radio on WWL, listening to John Freguson. I always loved the call of an LSU touchdown by Ferguson: "Touchdown LSU!!" Very fond memories and I am sure you will hold those of you and your Dad dearly as well.

My father died in 69 at the age of 49. He graduated as well as my mom from LSU. He was an attorney, my mom a music major, educator. Remember several Saturday nights sitting in front of the TV/radio/record console player listening to John Ferguson calling the play by play. And going to LSU games with my cousins, my dads brother and his family. Instilled into me the true LSU spirit and life long fan. Sorry for your loss sounds like he was a good man.

If we had more of those great dads and "best friends" now we wouldn't be seeing the mess around the US that is going on today.

Godspeed to your Dad, sorry for your family's loss.

Lost my M-i-L last year, she was in Tiger Stadium in '59 for the Ole Miss game.

I lost my Dad 7 years ago. I still miss him all the time. One of the great lessons he taught me
“As usual as a kid you say man when I’m a father I’ll let my kids do stuff your father won’t let you do.
Then u become a Dad and realize it’s not easy
Mine said to me when my 1st was born “take the bad ways I raised you and change them BUT take the good things and keep them as well. You gonna find as u get older there will be a lot more good things.
As usual he was right
