Alabama ‘14. All was quiet at the final whistle except for the various curse words of disbelief.

But at that moment, just after the play that should have set up the win, I’ve never heard Tiger Stadium louder than when we recovered that fumble inside the 10 (5?) with just over a minute left and a tie score. Of course, the worst minute of football followed after the shite flag pushed us back, Miles plays for the FG without being able to run out the clock, we kick a FG, they get the ball with hardly any time but enough to get their own FG, they kick off, totally smoke LF7 and their entire bench is jumping around and acting like they just won the ship, took that momentum into OT and the rest is sad, sad history.

But for a moment, it was hair raising, chills enduring, pure happiness as loud as I’ve ever heard.

USC was one of the best games I've been too. Electric. USC was loaded and Hokie was special

To be honest, I’m always annoyed when this gets brought up. The loudest moment was when another team we had nothing to do with lost? And we’re proud of that? And this is while we were still losing. One of the best games in TS history, for sure, but I would like to think the crowd was louder when Hester scored or we knocked down Tebow’s Hail Mary attempt to seal the win. We were already ranked number 1 anyway and controlled our own destiny, so...what? The biggest cheer of the night was just pure schadenfreude? Seems like an odd thing to celebrate.

Rant over. Carry on.

For me, ‘03 Georgia when Skyler caught the td and ‘05 Auburn when they doinked it off the goalpost in OT. Place went apeshit. Miss the Death Valley from those days. Almost wish we’d just kept it at 93,000.

Without a doubt, felt like every person was standing next to you screaming in your ear.

Let it remain weird. There's something about that gold/ purple/ gold combo that keeps LSU from playing its best football...je ne sais quoi.

I'm glad he put the blocked field goal against Alabama in 2008 because that's the loudest single moment I've ever heard.

The exact moments specifically would be during and right after jc copeland caught the pass out of the backfield, broke a couple of tackles while punking the bama defenders, and went rumbling down the sideline for a huge gain right at the end of the 3rd quarter to put us in scoring position to take the lead in the 4th quarter.

Right after he was tackled CBS showed a field level view of Copeland and the LSU bench. The camera was shaking violently because of the crowd reaction. Just an awesome visual.

On that note, I know many may disagree, but I am sad to see the SEC on CBS go. Sure, there were reasons to gripe (seemingly an hour's worth of commercials). But I think their production value was tremendous since they essentially put everything in to one game a week. Certainly it helps when you get to pick the best matchup of the week, but those games (mostly) were produced as almost epic events

Probably discussed but the coolest was the L-S-U chant after UGA scored on a 90 yard screen pass late in the 4th to to tie the game 2003. Mauck gets the ball right back and takes us down the field with a bomb to Skyla while getting rocked to end it. I feel like the stadium willed LSU to victory that day.

I’d have to say ‘12 Vs Bama. After our last score and before the drive that led to Yeldon score there was a TV timeout where it was absolutely as loud as I have ever heard the stadium

I haven't scrolled through the entire thread but glad to see someone acknowledge Notre Dame '71. Early in the game the Notre Dame fullback was stonewalled on fourth down and ONE INCH to go at the Tigers' goal line. From the Sports Illustrated cover story the next week:

"The next time the Tigers had the ball, however, Jones fumbled and End Fred Swendsen recovered for the Irish at the LSU 36. What followed was one of those magical things that happen to teams in Tiger Stadium. Sophomore Quarterback Cliff Brown quickly moved the Irish to the one-inch line but on fourth down Andy Huff was stopped and thrown back by the left side of LSU's defensive line. Ever heard 68,000 people scream at once?"

I was on the field, and actually felt the wind from it blow my hair back. YouTube link at 28:25, with the voice of John Ferguson on the call:

Watch the LSU players jump up and run off the field without their feet touching the ground and that is how the fans were. Also, a bit of trivia: you may notice that back in those days the south end zone was painted in the colors of the visiting team. As for entire game sustained noise - USC '79 no contest. The Trojans never heard a snap count.

We sat on the 2nd row about the 20 yard line on the east side near the north end zone for the 2000 Tennessee game. I feel like the loudest it got was actually when Josh Reed caught the touchdown in the second half to stretch the lead from 24-15 to 31-15. There was a nervousness building as Tennessee was clawing back.

Damn the 2000's were a fun decade.
