2013 was his most prolific offensive. Unfortunately it was one of his weakest defenses.

Dramatic? Look at the talent those teams had.

The 2015 season had a lot of hope but that Bama game just brought everything down in an instant.

Couldn't stand that imbecilic grass eating goober. Gave up my season tickets b/c I couldn't stand it anymore. Everybody use to take up for him oh he's such a nice guy blah blah blah he was a perverted ahole rubbing on college girls

1/9/12 was the end for Miles

Of course Miles' true colors showed in the Bama games and seasons melted down after the Bama loss. But, going into November, there was certainly thoughts we could win it all, at least for me.
Of course there were always "hopes". But you knew Miles wasn't changing. He was going to run Fournette into a brick wall all night vs. Alabama no matter how many times the defense stopped it. Hell, even in the times he came out of his shell against Alabama he could not get away from himself. In 2012 Mettenberger was red hot and LSU needed literally one more first down to put the game away. A win would have put LSU in first place and on the inside track to the NC game. Instead, he takes the ball out of his QB's hands. Rams Hill into a wall 3 times to set up for a FG that even if it is good still leaves it a one score game. Even his last fricken game at LSU was a microcosm of his post 2008 career. Down 12-10 late in the 3rd Auburn fumbles the ball and gives it to LSU at the Auburn 16. Miles hammers Fournette, who had essentially once nice run all game, up the middle three times and settles for a FG. A chance to seize control of the game and he was terrified to do so.
There was always the hope that things would change. That's what kept you in the relationship. But you knew they weren't

2016, Miles had talked 3 or 4 guys into coming back to win a Championship. Again, who else could do that? The roster was loaded with NFL players. They lose to a terrific Wisconsin team 14-16 in game 1 at Lambeau. Harris looked great all spring and fall and Miles almost had to start him. Then they lose to another terrific team, Auburn, 13-18 again on the road, with Etling throwing the game winner to DJ Chark, the world thought.
WHAT? That Auburn team was mediocre at best. Quit trying to re-write history. Miles didn’t change the offense at all after promising to do so to essentially save his job from the prior season. You must’ve been one of the fans championing for him to keep his job on facebook and this board.
And that Wisconsin team lost to any team with a pulse. They were not that good. Much like UCLA, we propelled them early.

quote:Plenty of Miles nut huggers on this board think he should've never been fired. Players carrying his dumb arse off the field after the ATM game and the ensuing bleeding vaginas on ESPN bought him another year. The asinine idea that Michigan secretly wanted him real bad got him a contract extension.
How did he last so long?

Miles lost me completely on 9/3/2016. After claiming he studied all these new offenses during the offseason and changes coming blah blah blah only to line up in the 2011 offense and big fat W. It especially irked me that I had a Wisconsin fan at my house for the game. Of course we all didn't know at the time Miles' penchant for ... uh ... young ... ladies. Allegedly.

Most of those games were very stressful.

They were a top 25 team, a lot of you folks really need to look up the word mediocre. LSU should have beaten them, I thought they did TBH.

#9 Wisconsin?
Your dislike for Miles is clouding your thinking.

Do you think so? A lot of people, myself included, didn't like how it all went down but it was time to move on. Of course a lot of those who thought the same as I did had no idea about his peccadillos. That knowledge would have changed my calculus on the situation. I wonder now if that was the driver behind Aleva seemingly looking for a reason to fire Miles. I also didn't like politicians meddling in 2015 at all.
Whatever the case, things went the way they did and it has worked out for the best in the end IMO.
