So class rankings do matter this week?
for entertainment purposes only.

Has been a good week though. Some things shaping up. I like this action coming out of a camp; I feel better about the commits, slightly.

LSU has verbals from:

3 Star= 6
2 Star= 2
Not ranked= 1

I have a feeling LSU is making the same mistake over again by filling up their class early with 3 star players and finishing around 15 when it is all said and done.

Les Miles’s recruiting classes were head and shoulders above Coach O’s classes so far. Maybe this class will be different but it is starting to look similar to last year’s class.

Les could get 4 star players at a faster rate than Coach O can get his 3 star players.

You obviously don't follow recruiting very closely, but no, they can't sign until December at the very earliest. So to your point, I guess we could claim the #1 recruiting class in the nation at this point. No one has signed yet.
See, I knew I could find a positive poster on here. Justice is a positiger, way to go there sparky!

It’s hilarious seeing the propping up of a coach on verbal commits.

How many verbal commits has he lost the last two classes? Not a ONE for 2017 and none for 2018 that I can remember. Maybe you can name some of all the commits lost in 2018 to refresh my memory. Thanks in advance !!!

Justice: Just in case you "accidentally" missed my question. I thought you would be all over this one. What are the flips from LSU that has you so bummed????

If you want a more true average for LSU you need to take out the kicker and long snapper. .7798 & .7398 really drag it down. A more accurate rating of the average for the position players is .9153.

Well, 4 of the top 5 teams in last weeks rankings had kickers as well. So you have to exclude kickers for them too.

Like I said though, if he finishes top 5 no one should have any complaints.

You didn't do the two 5 and bunch of 4 stars. So I get the feeling you don't know shite about anything football or are hiding behind selective information to dispute LSU's #3 class.

Here is a post I made in another thread.

Tom Brady wasn't a ranked prospect coming out of high school.

3-stars:
Aaron Rodgers
Dak Prescott
Von Miller

Unranked:
Tom Brady
Ben Roethlisberger
Antonio Brown
Mike Tolbert

Some of the above I have heard of - others sound familiar but I don't do pro ball.

Here is the list; NFL fans will probably recognize more of the pro-bowlers.

37 NFL Pro Bowl Players Were 3-Star Recruits (or Worse)

Guys we are having a good week of recruiting, that’s all I was saying. Sorry that upsets so many people. I thought LSU fans might be happy about that.
It appears I was wrong.

LSU fans who are fans of the program and not any particular coach are always happy with good news. It's these miserable f@cks with a miserable agenda that aren't happy with anything in life that gets their feathers ruffled when anything against their agenda comes up. It's amazing that any fan of a program would actually root against positive things for the team so they can be "right" than to have steps which could actually improve the team. I'm not a fan of O, but let the man build the team in how he sees fit to correct glaring weaknesses first. If he fails to provide results in a reasonable time, fire him as you would any coach at a program with high aspirations. I wasn't a fan of Miles either, but I give him the credit deserved for what he did for the program. His style of ball and his results the last few years here were frustrating and he left the team with glaring holes to be filled. The defensive line was severely lacking depth for many years. The idea of having almost all offensive road grating only guards across the entire line severely limiting any remote possibility of a passing attack was frustrating beyond belief. It worked when we out talented the other teams, but over the years, LSU failed to get the necessary recruits to play that style of ball. I'm going to give it a couple of years with O bringing in a super deep defensive line with massive beef and a deep offensive line with a new and greatly upgraded offensive line coach. I'll never be a fan of any one coach. All the bitching on here does nothing but give this site clicks, which is what they want anyway. Go ahead and fight umtil your head explodes for all anyone with sense cares. The sensible will let it play out, be happy and enjoy supporting the "team". If it doesn't work out, he's gone. If it does, any real fan would be happy. Either way, the problem is solved. As always, Geaux Tigers.

we have just as many 4*'s (6 ea) as 3*'s, which is anything but similar to last year, at this same point in the cycle.

Going into the Dec signing period we were 3* heavy for sure, and inked many of them. I thought it wasn't managed very well last year. But what we're looking at right now is a much different situation.

I am still holding out hope the we do use the Dec period better this time around, but I am not seeing the parallels. We'll have to see how we sit at the end of Nov to really get a judgement of the management/strategy though.

Are you saying if one commits, LSU isn't getting the other or LSU isn't getting either one of them?

I never made a comparison to any other team. I said LSU's average rating for position players is .91+, which is pretty good.
