Oh I believe all this shall pass, but I do wish things would quiet down. Now we have interns getting press conferences.
I am not saying I agree with any of it. I just regret all the negative press from it. It would be nice for LSU to not hurt itself over politics. At least not publicly.

Yep. This is what Moscona has been leaving out of his tantrums: the two biggest revenue sports are dumpster fires right now. Woodward was objectively failing the most important parts of his job.
Without Landry making these changes we'd all be sitting here next year listening to Kelly make the same excuses for why we lost to Tamu and Ole Miss, again.

The coach was going anyway if the boosters wanted him gone.

We are now South-Central Louisiana State University

In the new landscape, the head coach is bigger than the A.D. he and the general manager will run. The football program the AD is ceremonial position now fundraising dealing with minor sports etc

There is a part of this they aren't telling us. My theory holds that the governor is a vindictive bitch and ordered the code red on Scott.
This is absolutely possible.
Two things can be true at the same time.
Scott failed the football and basketball programs, and because of that, didn't deserve to continue as the AD and make the next football hire.
The Governor is a moron and stuck his nose where it doesn't belong.

This is where I am with it. We knew this would likely happen. It's just the optics of Landry stepping in and being so public about thoughts and opinions that could've been handled internally. Instead he couldn't resist being the spotlight. Had this happened without all the extra, while some wouldn't have liked it, it would've been understood. But when he said what he said in his press conference and further on his ESPN media tour yesterday, he hurt more than helped the optics of not only the athletic program but LSU.
There's a right and a wrong way to go about anything. And you can be completely correct in your stance on something but be incorrect in how you handle it. The optics just doesn't look good on it right now. Hopefully with time it looks better, but damn if only things were just handled internally.

What they aren't telling us is that the Kelly buyout money still isn't there in full.

Lol Well, he has RBF. But a lot of high level people do i guess.

That would be absolute political suicide.
LSU football support is bipartisan.

There is probably some type of gag order on it, but let's be honest, we all know why Woodward was let go and most of us can see through all the bullshite that's been said over the past few days.

Now that he has gotten his media tour and I doubt he comments on it again after next week. He has already done his grandstanding, when push comes to shove he won't say shite.

Could no one ask, what is the process for finding the new coach. Where do you start? Are you using a professional search firm like Texas A&M to get Elko, OU to get Venables, Ole Miss to get Kiffin, Texas did to get Sarc, Penn State to get Franklin, if not then what is the process? Who on this board has ever hired this type of high level sports position? Just saying we are going to hire the best coach in the country for LSU is pretty much a lame answer. LSU used a search firm to hire Nick Saban. So assuming it isn't Nick Saban, and may be the next up and coming how do you get there and make that decision? All the questions were mostly about buyouts and finance, and Landry, all the things that fans really don't care about.

ESPN right now is clowning LSU over all of this stuff.
Last time I checked, ESPN/Disney are huge liberal media. Of course they will try to defend one of their own ilk. No surprises here.
In a very short time, this will be forgotten, and LSU will be under better leadership than we've had in years, with a bright future.
Bunch of chicken littles in here.

They don't need 53 million tomorrow, they need 800k a month for the next 6 years or until BK gets another job. If the Ath Dept can't figure out how to budget that out, then it's probably time to shut the thing down anyway and go to intramurals
Posted on 10/31/25 at 9:29 am to 94LSU
It doesn't have to be. $800k/month.

He doesn’t get a lump sum unless he negotiates it down to less than half of what he’s owed. Even then he probably doesn’t get a lump sum. They aren’t cutting him a $54 million dollar check.
He will be paid out in monthly installments.

Landy being Landry..... Political grandstanding. "protecting the tax payer".

dude says the governor had nothing to do with Woody getting shite-canned. I absolutely call bullshite on that.
And I do to.
Now the why, I could speculate but it doesn't matter any more, he is gone.
My opinion is that, if Landry wanted Woodward gone, fine, but don't air it out to the public. That is the kind of crap you do behind the scenes.
Landry needs to leave LSU alone, but his little "I, me, my" and "look at me" personality won't let him.
