Garza debuted for Chatham today. Subbed in halfway thru to play catcher and went 1/2 in a 6-3 win. Glad to see he got some time behind the plate and not just a pinch hit role. Chatham has been in a rut on offense lately so he should get some opportunities between Catcher and DH

Only two or three rostered pitchers threw last Summer.
Now I don’t know what the freshmen did, but only Hess and one or two others pitched in the Summer.

Some assignment odds & ends:
Chase Costello only had one appearance for Kokomo before dropping off their roster. No news on the reason.
Ray Torres is going the JUCO route. He's heading to San Jacinto in the fall.
Gavin Dugas is now showing on the roster for the Danville Dans. I assume this is in an effort to get him more ABs than he was getting in the Cape Cod league. I thought originally the Cape was an aggressive assignment. I wondered why he wasn't sent to the Northwoods league.
Zack Mathis is now on the roster for the Wareham Gatemen in the Cape Cod league.
Wes Toups is no longer on the Danville Dans roster. No reason given.

You quoting me made me find a typo that I've now fixed. Ha.
He's showing as #99 right now, which is their way of saying he's on the roster but not active yet. I would check ahead before going to the game.

Hopefully they activate him soon, they only play for 2 more weeks i think. Minus playoffs.
