It's just what people do. Like the guys from Michigan State being named the No Fly Zone. Now I have no idea if they came up with that before or after they got good, nor if they even came up with it themselves, but whatever pumps a team up is always good.

I like The Boom Squad myself.

Hey guys I had an idea

Why don't we call them the "Chinese Bandits"

There's this old comic strip about a military adventure in China, and the Chinese bandits encountered were said to be "the most fierce warriors on the Earth"

I think this would be a great nickname for the LSU defense

What do you think

No

I agree with him, and no I didn't. That crappy nickname can stay with Seattle.

Idk if the nickname will stick as it's taken, but I definitely dig the swagger and confidence they're developing. Aside from being younger after so many players leaving early, I think that attitude has been the big thing missing from the last couple Tiger teams. No big personalities out there once TM7, Reid, Mingo, Sonic Sam, etc. all left.

If they can approach that kind of defensive level, they can call themselves whatever the hell they want imo

Hey dumbass, the LSU players can call themselves whatever they want and you don't have any say in the matter.

If calling themselves "Legion of Boom" fires them up to play better, then more power to them.

Agreed

They are giving credit to the Seahawks too

I can't wait to see what Clifton Garrett looks like. He has the size and ability to lop off heads. He could get significant playing time this year as a true freshman.

It sounds a lot like last years off-season when the coaches tried to boost the confidence of the defense by saying, "tradition never graduates"...well it graduated. And i will temper my excitement and have a wait and see approach about this years defense.

We are creative and don't copy others. Copying nicknames is straight.

I'm concerned about depth at defensive tackle. This was our weakness last year, so Gillmore and either Bain or Valentine needs to perform.

As a Seahawks fan, If they want their play to improve, they're looking up to the best * currently* in the game, thats a good start.

Minter is the only one who would start on this team. Francois might get 10 snaps per game in a package. Hatcher would not see the field unless on special teams. I'd take last year's LBs over the group you suggested. This year's group is head and shoulders better.
