If you look at Palm’s seeds it’s not necessarily going by NET. Some significant variations.

It’s weird he has LSU at 7 which I agree but he has Missouri as a 6 Seed. They finished 6th in the SEC.
Mizzou actually finished 7th. That said, conference order of finish doesn't mean much...if anything. Mizzou is still getting a lot of credit for 7 Q1 wins and a 19 SOS. They have be inconsistent down the stretch, but they have a TON of great wins (Oregon, at Wichita St., Liberty, Illinois, AT Arkansas, AT Tennessee, Alabama, AT Florida). In fact, the avg Net ranking of their wins is higher than all of the projected #1 seeds besides Michigan.
Missouri's problem is that they have a tendency to lose to bad teams despite the fact they have beaten a ton of really good teams.

I think when its all said and done the seeding may not be a predictable as it was in past years. this is why they should have opened it up this year only to 96 and had two rounds of 32. No one would have complained about that.
96 teams would have been terrible. I get it was a strange year and teams lost several games. But even then you still have an idea of the the best 68-ish teams.
I do agree the NET won't be gospel this year. The committee is going to have to figure out what to do in a year where many teams played weak non-conf. schedules through no fault of their own. I think they are going to look at teams who were able to beat other NCAAT teams (and where they beat them) as the biggest deciding factor. That is the biggest negative on LSU's resume compared to others. They missed their chances to get a good non-conf win (vs. St. Louis and Texas Tech). The hope is that they can do just enough in the SECT and and the others they are competing with for 7, 8, 9 seeds do just enough to stumble so LSU can secure a 7.

I don't disagree, but UF has the head-to-head win over LSU AND that massive win AT West Virginia.
Yeah, I get the arguments for Florida in comparison to LSU; but I think Lunardi having them at a 9 says a lot. I think he, like I, is looking at this bad losses they have namely 3 in Q2 and 1 in Q1 as counteracting that WVU win, which at least on paper is starting to lose some of its shine. WVU is now 23 in the NET and has been a bit inconsistent as of late.
But I definitely don’t disagree with you on the whole “diversity of wins” argument you make regarding LSU. It’s crazy just how big a difference them winning just that 1 game against TTU would’ve made in their resume, rankings, and the committee’s perception of them.

Plus, one thing that really doesn't get mentioned in Arkansas's current 11 game SEC win streak is that SEVEN of those 11 wins came at home.
This is a great breakdown of Arkansas. And I agree with you. I think they are a solid team and they are playing “better” as of late; but I also think they are a little bit of fool’s gold in how much they are being hyped by media.

the dreaded 8/9 seed is very likely
Screw it. You have to beat good teams in the tournament. LSU can beat anybody on a given day/night. Beat a 1 in the 2nd round and then you have the easiest road to the final four.
