You need to read “Everything Matters in Baseball”. It lays out Skip’s philosophy on midweek/early season games.
You’re going to win the solid majority of them based upon a preponderance of talent. But winning/losing isn’t important. What’s important is finding the guys who are going to help you win a more important game later on in the season.
Every LSU fan should read this book. It would help manage expectations.
