are their anti-vagrancy laws in the United States? I'm pretty sure you don't have to carry ID on you
Stand up to them, tough guy. Don't let them push you around. Show them who is boss.

He sure asked for 2 forms of ID... like I was lying, or trying to pass off a fake.
I've done stupid stuff, but I wouldn't try to pass a fake to a cop...
The cop got a real pushy attitude with us after we proved ourselves worthy to drink. He was saying stuff like "make sure you throw that can away, don't wanna give you a littering ticket."
WTF, let us enjoy the gameday experience...

Withholding an ID from a police officer is not protected under the first amendment. However, you are not required to carry identifiation on you when you are not driving.

Dude you rule this thread. None of us can come close to this guy's badass belittling.

I just told him thanks and that I'll see him again someday when I'm a lawyer and he's still working as a pathedic LSU policeman
Did you get the names and badge numbers of the LSU PD officers involved in the "raid?"
Have you filed a complaint with the LSU PD?
Was the property returned to you sans the alcohol or were you informed where you could pick up the confiscated assets?
I am not an attorney but I would think someone would need to be charged with an offense in order to justify the confiscation of that magnitude.

What I don't get is how they can take the keg without proof that whatever was in the kids cup came from said keg.
Its not like we are in a bar where you can't leave with a drink.
Our spot is very open, there are tons of friends and such who simply stop by to say hey. All of a sudden, I'm responsible for them because they happen to be close to my tent?
Something tells me the law doesn't work like that.

We're very familiar with the guy believe me. He blows. It isn't the first time we've had a problem with him. He ripped our speakers apart last year and we issued a complaint. I guess this is his revenge.

This is exactly right.
This seems like a blatant abuse of authority. I am not the least bid surprised though.

cops are being gay like this everywhere. i was in knoxvile this weekend at a tail gate where the youngest person was probably 24, everyone was of age. We had most of our drinks in coolers, but there was a fifth of makers and jim beam on the table as well as an extra case of beer sitting beside the table. two campus police officers came by and just started pouring out all of it. they said it's a dry campus and we should have been smarter about it. their job is not to harass people but to serve people. what public service are they performing by pouring out alcohol of people of legal drinking age? btw, none of us were acting disorderly as it was 11 in the morning at this point.
