imagine how nice it was when our boosters saved 40 million a year in 2003 to win a national title.

Im seriously laughing at the downvotes on the first page. That 40 million roster number that has been thrown around most definitely made it completely impossible for fans and the media to be okay with 9-3 this year. LSU went 8-4 and 9-3 without all that money beforehand. The one thing Kelly did that Ed O didn't do is leave Kiffin with a stable program. LSU was a complete fricking mess when Kelly got here. Lane just has to bring an offense to an already talented defense that improved last year. Something he is known to do.

He has zero excuses with all the talent he has brought in. Three deep legitly at QB, depth for days at RB with two of the most talented RBs in the SEC back. Tons of talented receivers with experience too. Possibly the greatest TE in the country with depth there too. An OL that brings back the best lineman last year (center), plus and immediate plug and play multi year starting guard, plus and immediate plug and play multi year starting tackle. Another tackle and guard from this group is not a daunting task at all.

You can't praise him like some king every day on this board just because he's flying out to meet recruits and then expect to lose 3-4 games this year.

How accurate is that number? Where are they coming up with that number? We better make the playoffs year one if we’re spending that much money.

Doesn’t really matter and we really don’t care, the Lane Train is in town and we are loaded, price doesn’t matter to be the best

So let's say you're only a fan. Not a rich guy. Just someone who buys a ticket or signs up for an expensive cable or streaming service to see his Tigers.
You are told the money spent on players is everything when it come to those Tigers winning games and making you happy. Oh lord, let's not comment on "other peoples money". Guess it is not our team anymore, just the big donors?

How much of that is your money? Must be a lot for you to demand results

Why do people say things like this? Why does it have to be our money for us to care? The point isn't about who spent the money, the point, very obviously, is that if that much money is being spent to acquire talent, then the expectations should be very high, because there are no excuses about not being given everything you needed to win.

Why is that such an outrageous or offensive statement to some people? I'm pretty sure Lane Kiffin would agree that expectations should be to make the playoffs this year.

How accurate is this? LSU has had 43 transfers in and 34 transfers out via portal. This is crazy,

When they brought NHL hockey to Atlanta (again) they had a billboard on the highway that said “Come watch our yankees whup their yankees!” Football is now “come watch our pro players whup their pro players!”. I am just going to imagine baseball players come to LSU to play for CJJ and hope I can get a few more years out of baseball before it is ruined. Women’s gymnastics is pretty good to watch if y’all haven’t tried it yet. They smile, cheer and look like they are having fun.

We’re a billion dollar brand. $40 mill is cheap. Just give it 5 years. SEC schools will have a salary cap of $100 mil.

I’m sure next year we will see 50-60 million dollar teams. Teams like osu, Texas and Oregon will dish out more money if others are buying championships

Well Golesh reported Auburns roster is 30 mil and hes the head coach so about as honest as were gonna get. Compare it to ours. Then compare it to the other spenders. Compare ours to other spenders. 40 mil is about right id say. Maybe more. We've got roughly 10 mil tied up in Leavitt, Seaton and our 2 5* DL recruits. Do the math on the other 90 or so kids and 40 mil adds up quickly.
