Reid makes a good point, it's a shame how much we value entertainment over education.
He should really show us and give up playing football and live off a teacher’s salary.

......and sell his expensive cars , houses, etc.

ETA: Reid is IN entertainment himself! He is currently a wealthy man based on this very situation, isn't he?
Again...there's probably a long list of things which we "ought to" value over entertainment, right? Education, healthcare, retirement planning, child rearing, etc. Saying that by itself is fatuous. Who disagrees? It's like saying support the troops or teachers are undervalued.
However, if his goal was really to make that point, then what he could have done would have been to congratulate LSU (his alma mater) on the fantastic new addition and then make a public donation to the cause he suggested and challenge, in a good natured way, others to do the same because he'd like to see the same amount of money spent on education as athletics. Why not that?
Instead, he just hopped up on his high horse and suggested that this was unnecessary, all the while forgetting that things like this were partly what attracted him to LSU as a player when it was his time to choose a university.

Extremely proud of the person Tyrann has become. There’s is a reason he is a fan favorite.

He should...
I'm not going to say what he should or shouldn't do with his money/possessions/life, because I don't want to look like a hypocrite, but maybe he figures it would be best for him to make as much money as possible and use it to help others. That might be more productive to society than just quitting everything and living on the cheap.
I'm not fully on board with the way he gets his messages across, but at least he seems to be trying - and not just indulging himself on hookers and blow.
But then, I don't know for a fact that he doesn't do that either. I wouldn't really blame him if he did.

Reid's point about the money being better spent on scholarships is well taken, BUT, Mathieu is correct in pointing out that no one is stopping Reid from creating his own foundation to fund those scholarships.
Typical whiny-arse progressive. All he wants to do is point out problems, even when there aren't any instead of actually doing something about them.

Eric Reid and AOC should get married.

Eric should adopt this same philosophy.
He keeps looking dumber with every tweet.

Some people are talkers. Some people are doers. I think we all know who’s who when it comes to these 2 former tigers.

Kaepernick got turned by getting some radical muslim pussy.
Reid got turned by Kaepernick. -- sad.

was a great player here, but was never loved like Peterson and Honey Badger
I completely disagree with this... I always thought of Eric Reid as a pillar of DBU. He was a Boss on the field and was a role model off the field.... And he was always "well spoken" lol. His interception in the game of the century 2011 was quite possibly the greatest defensive play I've ever seen. He was an LSU legend IMO... But now he just comes off like a whiny little bitch

What a long winded way of saying "Eric Reid is dumb, but I'm not willing to say so because of my own political leanings"

Reid didn't directly call out Mathieu
Reid criticised the decision to spend that money that way. Mathieu made that decision. Okay, Reid didn’t directly call out Mathieu, but he indirectly called him out - IN PUBLIC.

Who would have imagined 8 years ago that Tyrann would be the calm mature voice of reason and Reid would be the loud mouthed attention whore.

For real though, Eric Reid was the scariest player I ever played against at ANY level (includes middle school, high school, AND intramural flag football). I was not about catching a couple slants up the middle with him at FS.
