Look I loved the time Will Wade was our coach. I attended his introductory press conference as a student. He brought a passion and engagement to lsu basketball that was lacking for a long time! I wish he was still our coach.
But, I support McMahon and hope he is able to be a long term, consistent coach who elevates this program to yearly success. I want the best for the LSU team while he’s here! I just want to be able to care about the team LSU puts on the court.

Winning or being at the top of the SEC competing with UK and others is not nothing you moron.

I figured it was pretty clear that I was being sarcastic. I quoted the guy that says the wins and analytics suggesting Wade could coach wasn’t “analysis” to back up the idea that he knew what he was doing.

Good on him!
I hope it translates to at least 8th in the conference.

L. O. L. Its the complete opposite. The people that love basketball and loved watching winning basketball were Wade fans. He made basketball here exciting again and had the program on a great trajectory. Just thinking about Wade’s presser after the ULL nit game brings goosebumps. Mcmonotone just doesn’t have the juice like that, I hope he succeeds nonetheless because I love watching quality basketball.

Wade seems to get brought up more on this board by the posters that historically rarely discuss basketball, but feel an onus to jump into any thread that mentions Wade.

people just love having WW's cock in their mouth. that is all.
Will Wade was responsible for resurrecting the LSU program from the ashes. He was betrayed by his scumbag AD who stabbed him in the back. Sorry (not sorry) that a lot people feel he was done wrong.

I know right. People kept bringing up numbers to support the idea that we had good teams and good offenses under Wade. The analysis of tigerdroppings saying that he didn’t know how to coach was clearly right.
He also didn’t win anything other than a SEC Championship here so he really sucked.
Great job strawmanning what I said and not responding to any point I made! You Wade fans surely love doing that. God forbid anyone say anything SLIGHTLY positive about McMahon or the team.
Let me make something EXTREMELY clear:
I DO NOT hate Will Wade. Far from it. While he was here, I loved him. I loved his passion and energy, and I loved how he brought life back to a dead program. He gave Tiger fans something to be proud of and cheer for for the first time in a while. I'm aware of the success Wade had here. No one's denying that. Not once in ANY of my posts did I say Wade was bad or an incapable coach. Not once. I think he is a good coach. That being said, he is not our coach. He will never be our coach again. He got caught doing something really stupid. I'm aware all blue blood programs cheat (before incoming Bill Self spewers), but Wade did a really terrible job at hiding it. He fricked up badly.
I agree with a lot of what drizztiger said. Never once have I had an issue with people who are actual fans of basketball defending Wade. I respect fans who were here for Dale, Brady, Johnson, and Jones. I remember going to a lot of Jones games when I was younger and losing to really terrible teams OOC. I remember those darker days, and I respect the people who have stuck through all the way. What I don’t respect is people whose only purpose in basketball threads is to downvote any and all posts and regurgitate Wade support. You want to cry and complain about the PMAC being dead or us having a bad team, while doing nothing to support it and nurture a sustained, growing fanbase.
I agree that he was a good coach, and inarguably (to this point) better than McMahon while at LSU. However, I cannot stand, and I will never stand for the overwhelming negativity MBB gets. People who have never once commented on a basketball thread, who couldn't name 5 players on our roster without Google, spam downvoting ANY post concerning MBB. They say nothing else about the team or the players, but make some regurgitated comment about "Woody fired Wade". "frick Woody". "McSleepy". "McBoring". We get it. You hate Woody and McMahon and love Wade.
Case in point: the post about our season opener against MVSU. More downvotes than upvotes, and posts about McNeese and Wade getting a more positive reaction. What the frick is that? If you love Wade so much, go to Lake Charles and watch those games. Buy a season ticket. Go ahead. These are the same people who will come around and be supportive of McMahon if we start having sustained success. Again I will reiterate I have no issue with actual educated basketball fans who liked Wade and wish we had him, but still support McMahon and our team. Someone said they were a student when Wade was here, but still support McMahon. I'm the same way. You can like both of them. But posting McNeese accomplishes absolutely nothing.

For all the MM haters on here saying he couldn't recruit he sure is knocking them down.
I'm pleasantly surprised. I want MM to succeed. Even given the circumstances last year - and I understand the circumstances, it was a disappointing year in almost every way imaginable...and as I've detailed my reasoning for believing that here many times, I'll leave it at that.
I am hopeful that trend stops there, and development and improvement begin starting this year.
