Man, I can't believe Watson hasn't been taken. He's got such an upside.
I almost feel like he must have told team's he's coming back.
I think it has to be signability concerns with him at this point

He's a draft eligible sophomore right? So he'll still have leverage next year.

That’s why I think Watson and Hess will come back. Their potential is much higher than where the draft is right now and they will still have leverage in 2019.

Slot money down to about $240,000 now.

Can't they overpay the slot value by a large margin?

I think they can overpay slot but they cannot overpay their bonus pool. So to pay more a higher draft pick has to take less.
Another reason why the drafting team is more important. If they are taken by a team with a smaller bonus pool it will be more difficult to over pay them.

Current slot money is $264,000. Is that too little for either to leave for?
Hess and Watson are for sure coming back IMO, they are draft eligible Sophomores so they will still have leverage.

Through the completion of 6 rounds, no Tigers or signees drafted!

So this draft has gone pretty well so far.

Be easy on us 7th round.
Looking at the best available board, this might be a brutal round for us

That board has not changed in at least 2 rounds.

I know
But winter is coming.
We've made out like bandits so far.

Right. But I'm trying to be positive. Looking at that list as the untouchables.

I can see a massive overhaul of our pitching staff soon. Back end bullpen guys better have a team lined up soon.
Hess, Hilliard, Walker, Storz, Labas, Marceaux, Hill, Kelly, Henry, Ripoll are givens. Fontenot, Peterson, Beck will still be here. Then have to make room for rest of the freshman pitchers.

Possibly Bush & Gilbert as well. Pitching stacked.
