In poke vaulting , the wind outdoors plays a big factor. It can help you or hurt your performance. Same with all events including sprints , long jump, high jump etc. Then factor in heat , rain, cold and outdoors is a different animal.

Oh yeah, that’s why the records are so different.

That has more to do with Mondo not maxing out when he breaks a WR.

I wasn’t thinking of Mondo in particular.

Go back to 84 , that's about when they started keeping separate WRs .. Bubka (sp) went 3" higher outdoors vs indoors that year.

Mondo is the most accomplished and recognized former LSU athlete on the world stage.

Do you really think Mondo is the most recognized LSU athlete worldwide? Pole vaulting isn’t that popular dude. Maybe he’s a celebrity in Sweden but the vast majority of people who even follow sports have no idea who he is. Guys like Justin Jefferson are far more recognized worldwide. He’s the unquestioned best in the world at a niche Olympic sport. People care about him once every 4 years worldwide and pole vaulting is way down the list of Olympic sports the world follows or cares about

The NFL is a niche sport the rest of the world doesn't care about. Tom Brady and now Travis Kelsey, because of Taylor Swift are probably the only NFL guys known world wide. Mondo is known not only in Sweden but all of Europe and Asia including China.

The you’re one of the dumbest people in the world because there is a 0% chance that Justin Jefferson is “far more recognized around the world” than one of the biggest stars in a global sport.

You could’ve at least said Shaq or something.

He is absolutely amazing.

An absolute god in Sweden.

He made the right move. My colleagues in Sweden, reach out with all of his highlights. If he stayed here, we wouldn’t even know he was breaking world records every few weeks.

Glad he was at LSU and holds a world record. Doesn’t make him the greatest athlete ever at LSU. Hell he’s probly not even the best athlete in his family. I bet he can’t hit a fastball.
