I just have a big problem with settling with the FG on the final drive. Alleman has continually showed you he's mentally fragile and that distance is anything but automatic for him. Put the game in Mett's hands and end it.

I would've either took a delay of game adn punted or PA pass for a first down to go for the win.

Better for us though. Bama had never had a team rn more than 58 plays on them. We had that by mid way thru 3rd quarter. You could tell it was affecting them.

Same thing as last year, we don't have to play the Sept we did, no way we go undefeated. Having our defense go thru that track meet of a schedule made them solid.

My only issue with Sat is is felt a lot like Tenn in 06 after Rita. We had them on the ropes, and just went for the jab instead of the haymaker. Les has got to learn to start playing for the win rather than playing not to lose. You saw it against A&M, you saw it against USCe. That strategy leaves you no room for error. The most unfortunate thing is it has worked time and time again.

I was impressed, VERY impressed that they let Mett loose. Our receivers still had issues, but in the fourth quarter, you could see a difference in Landry and OBJ. Mett seemed different too, looked like a leader.

Bottom line, weve got a lot of young guys on the field right now getting big game experience and performing very, very well. If we can build on this performance, not very many people are going to want to play this team going into next season.

Watching Mett's highlights on TV, they looked a LOT better on tv than in person. And they looked fricking great in person.

He is obviously A LOT more comfortable in the shotgun. WE need to let this man throw out of the gun more often.

THAT is the team a lot of us knew we had. The future is extremely bright. Let's roll.

I was out of town and just caught part of Metts post game presser. He seemed very confident in what they accomplished and I think thats huge.

if alleman makes that FG, I wonder how we call that final series defensively

Yep. It was like once he hit a few in a row, the lights just came on.

I still look for us to struggle a little early, because that game took a lot out of us. BUT, we should roll the rest of our schedule. If we don't, it falls squarely on the shoulders of the coaches. WE have the talent to beat anybody in the country.
We need to finish strong like we did in 06 and head into 2013 ready to beat some arse.

Probably the same. If we decided playing back was smart with a 3 pt lead, I can only imagine they would play back with a 6pt lead.

This game should've been won 20-7. But, frick. If we kick it instead of faking it and alleman makes both FGs, we should've won 23-21.

Bama doesn't play as loose.

We still should have let Mett throw on third down.

I'd like to think we call it more aggresively knowing that they have to score, and likely would have had worse starting field position.

I agree, but only in hindsight. At the game, most people wanted us to run the clock.

Can't really fault that coaching decision.

Though, I would've rather had punted since Alleman had the mental makeup of a teenage girl in that game.

I just really don't understand the decision, even if keeping the clock on your side was the goal, you could have done something relatively safe that at least gave you shot at the first

The fake and onside kick were not necessary.

kinda' maybe....where would we have been against Florida/Bama in the past without the fake and the onsides kick was just a frickn' horrible bounce. IMO, Alleman should have checked out of the fake when he saw bama's set but Les was being aggressive and the kid was just trying to make a play.

as you said he consistantly got positive yds when nothing was there.

The only thing is that we quit rushing 4 at the end of both halves and we leaned on young CBs to win us the game.

this, the failed fake and a retarded late hit penalty hurt us more than anything else.

Hopefully Les trusts mett now.

Hopefully Mett continues to earn the staff's trust....it works both ways.

bama's oline won that game when it counted....with the kid's above and the kid's coming in we should be in position to continue to be a major player in the natcham hunt.

This is what I would have done to. Can't chance stopping the clock with an int.

He had been hitting passes up the middle the entire second half.

Being pumped and blindly optomistic is needed for players, but not necesssary for fans. Fans were just being realistic given the situation. Bama is obviously a better team this year, you should know this as you watch college football. Saban now has the inside track to 3 NC's in four years. This is dynasty domination, regardless of how we beat them last year and how close we came this year.

Hey people were just being realistic. They hadnt seen anything to show that we could play a game like that. At least that's what they were saying.

Stupid people annoy me too.
